just another i'm bored idea: adding heated steering wheel...any ideas?
i know you can get aftermarket seat heaters, but i'm wondering if it's possible to find an aftermarket heater thing thin enough to fit under a wheelskin cover. my steering wheel is always freezing, and i don't want to be a rich yuppie and wear driving gloves, so this idea came to mind. i know some newer cars come with this option, just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to do it? i guess i'll start searching for a heating element thin and long enough to do it, but i figured i'd post the idea here for input.
just an idea folks so if you don't like it, don't bother posting. :tardsmash |
yeah that should be part of the cold weather package. I they got them in bmw's. I guess we gotta spend more than 35K to have that option. Damm thats a good idea for a aftermarket item. cha ching

Swap from i35? :gotme: I dunno.
Or maybe remove the heating element from it. |
that's what i'm thinking...i looked on ebay and searched yahoo for aftermarket stuff but nothing good really came from that. i'll have to see if someone maybe has a junk 5th gen or i35 wheel that maybe i can remove it from so i can then put it in mine. i don't really want to swap airbags is the thing so hopefully i can transplant if i get my hands on one.

OOOOO my friend has that but its for his 03 max...fully loaded...black on black...damnit....

Or you could just try and find some used balls, usually they pop up in the for sale section and that will def. help you cope with the fact that your steering wheel is a little chilly :(. Sack up!
|
i wouldnt mind having a spare sack of balls, myself

oh you guys...
chris is someone to talk about having balls...he's had a s/c in his closet for like 5 months and hasn't put it in. |
:o)
I think that is a sweet idea. I have thought about this too. I am very resilient to cold (I litterally don't own a jacket) but if I ever get cold, it is my hands! I have heated seats but never use them. I just blast the heat out my vents and take turns with each hand (one on the wheel and one in front for the vent). Anyway, good luck with the project Jepht - but don't forget the 'PRND' project comes first my friend. ;)
