I have a CEL to but mines for the Evap valve right next to the cannister you sure its not the valve and not the cannister ? any ways im just trying to get the money to pay for the valve 115 bucks i walked into nissan dealership and i glanced at the counter and i swear at quick glance i saw a sign with hand marks saying place hands here and assume the position. :doublethu

0903 is related to the vent control valve of the EVAP canister. It means its either stuck open or closed, can't remember which.... but a usual suspect is that one of the hoses in the area is clogged. When I get home I'll reference my FSM and tell you the other possible causes.

I would assume the valve is stuck in the closed position mine is any way

Removing the vent control valve from the car and cleaning it up usually clears it up.
WD-40 is your friend. If it still doesn't work, then it needs to be replaced.

i did this back in september. it didnt affect drive quality/performance, but the CEL was on. in IL, if the CEL is on, u cant pass emmisions.

very simple to do. near the driverside rear tire is the evap box. its a big black box, about 1'length x 7-8in width. only a couple of bolts and 2 evap lines go in there. very simple, about a 10-20 min job depending on how rusted the bolts are. PM me w/ ur email and i'll email u the directions...i still got them on my computer. i had to get evap canister and valve, cost was around 100$
