ANOTHER 350z Seat swap...
I had been considering swapping seats with some from a Spec V, but I came across these seats for sale in a nearby town for a decent price so I decided to go with them.
Install was a bit more difficult then I had figured, but with some patience and a bit of creativity I got them to fit my origonal seat rails.
Pics arent that great since they were taken at night but you can get a general view.
I still need to fabricate a cover for the sides of the seats where some of the metal shows.
Overall, Im happy with them. They definately feel better then my stock seats.

Yeah, bhmax is the individual who did the seat swap first and his are powered.
The side bolsters rule. I love the fact that when driving the car I feel much more secure. No sliding around at all. When I take corners now, it feels more like you are one with the car.
To me, the best advantage of going this route, versus regular racing seats is that I can still use my OEM seatbelts.

i wanna ask how much you paid?
also, i have never tried the 350z seats, but is it adjusted via power? or manaul seat adjustments?
i really dis like the stock seats, i have a 97 and no matter what i do to adjust it, it just isn't comfortable. i have gray interior.

The seats are contolled by whichever base you are using manual or power.
If you have power, then you will still be able to use the power adjustments on your base since all that your doing is swapping the actual cushion portions of the 350z seats and mounting them onto the Maxima's base and rails.
My seats were manual, so my base doesnt have any controls on them to connect to the wiring on the 350z seats.
As far as I know, these seats came from a base model 350z. I think the track edition uses leather.
I paid 300.00 for the seats picked up.
Not too bad. Their condition is reallly good. It just took a bit more tweaking to get them to fit then I originally thought it would.
After getting these seats to fit, Ive come to the conclusion that any seats could be made to fit, wether their out of a Nissan or not. Just goiung to require some creative thinking.

It's for the "cargo" area that the Z's have. Sorry bro, I had to call it. BTW, I love the seats.

Where have you guys seen the 350z seats for sale, I've looked on Ebay, but have never come across a set.

Did you have a chance to notice the weight of the maxima vs Z seat? If your maxima seats were powered, you might have saved some weight. I'd gladly give up my power leather seats for some manual cloth/leather Z seats for the support and weight savings (if any)

Did you feel that the new seat is lower than the stock ones?

The seats are quite a bit lower. Not bad enough to effect driving, but enough to make you notice.
I havent taken the car on a long trip since Ive put them in,just the normal commute around town. I can honestly say, they are more comfortable then my Maxima seats. My aMAxima seats always made my back hurt after driving around for 35-40 mins.
The wieght is a bit lighter too.
When compelete the 350z seat probably wieghed close to my Maxima seat since it had the powered base and the Maxima seats are bulkier in their overall size.
Once I installed the 350z cushions onto the Maxima rails, they were quite a bit lighter due to the smaller thinner seat and no powered base.
If you look athe the pics I posted, you can see just how much thinner the 350z seat cushion is.

I never had power, and even if I did I would still probably ditch the power.
But if you really wanted to, you could wire them up for power im sure.
As far as not matching the rears, I really dont think any race seat setup will match unless put new fabric on to match.
The non matching part really doesnt bother me.
Id be content with no backseat. But at this time, thats not an option.
