I am very happy with the stock one. About the same gains as the aftermarket ones without the noise .

if you must mod, then please keep the resonator, that dyno curve with the resonator in place is just so much nicer than with the straight pipe, agreed? even better, just hack the bottom of your stock box, u get the growl you probably want for free =)

I'm using a JWT popcharger. Performance wise, not worth what I paid. It just sounds awesome when I step on it.

Interesting theory, worth a try. I'm using stock midpipe and the rest CAI, it would be interesting to see if there are any gains either way. Totally Stock vs stock mid w/ CAI vs aftermarket mid/w stock scoop.

I've got a K&N in my stock box...but I am working on a way to ram more air into it by placing dual collectors in the lower grill openings and running flexible hoses up an into the midpipe.

Stay tuned.

Where exactly is the resonator? I took everything from the airbox down, out of the car. I left the whole top stock. Is the resonator the black box where the hoses connect?

tell you what we can do... you can buy your $40, e-bay, pvc pipe, "cold air intake", install it, drive around in your own little world, completely convinced that your car is faster cause it makes a bunch of noise.... AND.... i will sit here silently and smile at you...

1) Mine isn't made out of plastic but you knew that.
2) Mine isn't from ebay but you knew that
3) I posted 10x more proof that you have (considering you posted absolutely none).

So I'll sit here, enjoy my intake and laugh at how truely ignorant you are about how cars work.

show me one article of "proof " you posted.. you posted a dyno sheet, from a different car, with a different engine, on dyno when the car isnt moving, which effects the perfomance of the stock intake. so far, the only thing you've shown, is the difference between the stock air filter, and a k&n cone filter.. c'mon man.. smarten up a bit.. u been here long enough... if you dropped a k&n fliter into the stock airbox, the results would be the same.. you know.. the 2hp you hold so close to your heart

Um yeah, it's was from a Nissan with a VQ. What more do you want? Plus another .org member posted 1/4 differences with the CAR MOVING.

Both of which is TONS more than you even attempted to show/prove/post etc... The ball is in your court, not mine.

You find that EGR valve yet smart guy?

1/4 mile times taken from different nights, with different tempatures, with different fuel, and yeilded a .4 sec differnce that could be as easily be argued as a response differece, as it can your " cold air intake ".. just to keep the fans informed...

Sure it you could have as easily gone the other way but it didn't. Your arguments get weaker as the conversation continues.

As could the Nissan VQ dyno could have. Dyno variance. But it didn't. Odd that two chance variance items both show gains.

1) I don't run those
2) What would be the problem if one did?

But I guess some stock GLE steelies with plastic hubcaps are the rage.

Stop changing the subject. Find that EGR valve yet sparky?
