Do this test then: When 'idle' turn on high load electrical components (head lights on hi b, fan on 4, stereo on full, move all 4 power windows simultaneously, brake lights, horn) and if your engine still runs then there is enough battery power.

You are brilliant!!!

I have the same issues. Rough idle, strumbles untill about 3 grand. HERE IS THE GOOD PART!!!

My alternator has been jacked up for about a year and a half. Just enough to charge the battery at highway speed. If I go to a couple of short trips in a row my battery will not have enough juice to start the car... If I sit in park with ac and accessories on, it will not start again. YOU GET THE POINT.

So, I am betting this is a spark issue directly contributable to the alternator. I am getting a new alternator tonight and will update the board when I am done putting it in.

Oh, one more thing... I had taken the car to the dealer, they could not work on it, but it was really, really, dead when I got it back. Had to jump it and the kid at the dealer could not even get it to stay started. Ended up starting it for them and keeping it pegged at 4,000 all the way home. Anyway it was running worse then than it ever had. I bet it was the juice being dead.

Take care, and thanks for the theory. BRILLIANT!!!

Can't get rid of them. Hesitation and stalling persist.
Could it be MAF sensor dieing slowly without showing any ECU codes???

I used jumper cable once and re-grounded the engine in every possible place...it did not help....

Try replacing the fuel filter. I find it unbelievable that you would change the fuel pump and FPR before replacing the fuel filter. Unless im mistaken and you already replaced it, this is kinda 'ed

That's incorrect. All three sensors are used for both the fuel injection and ignition systems.
