Hesistant 0-2.5k rpm's + no pep in 3rd gear
 

Ive been suspecting a combination of coil packs and a faulty knock sensor being the problem, but i want to be sure.

When I go out for a drive, 0 - 2500 rpms is jerky, hesistant and kind of puts along. from 2500 - 3000 seems to clear up and ride just fine. 3rd gear is horrible, theres like no power. I could floor the car and it will continue at it's same pace until reaching around 2500 rpms. Im also getting the terrible rotten egg smell from the catylic converter when the car jerks or misfires.

Diagnosis?

Is the CEL lit?

nope, CEL isn't on

That normally means your cat is dead. You'll need to replace it.

That doesn't tell you anything about the KS. Check the codes and see if there are any even though the light's not on.

Someone disconnected my CEL light, I just found out. I can't get any codes at the current moment

That can't possibly be a comforting feeling...I hope they're not hiding something drastic.

You can still get it checked free at autozone, but it is nice being able to do it yourself so I'd try to figure out how to reconnect it.

rotten egg smell i dont get maybe thats not related to your KS...but i do get the bad performance from 0-2k because of my ks. also the CEL wouldnt come on for a KS. i stopped gunning it to go easy on my engine..wait till you get a new one
