Question about Tokico HP's

Are they good, and can they be paired with H & R Springs?

Hey guys, im just about to lower my car and im gonna go with tokico hp's but i have no clue what springs to get. I dont wanna slam my car but i want to lower it enough to get rid of the fender gap.

Im thinkin of tokico springs or sprint springs, any suggestions? I'm thinkin sprint because they have a bigger drop, but i havent read much reviews on them, anyone have experience with them?

thanks for the help

be careful about the drop that you do. the hp's are much like stock struts/shocks. when you drop them far, they are working at a part of the strut they don't like to and tend to blow a lot. i'd stay away from them completely cuz no sense in going cheap now and having to replace in a few months. if you want to drop, go Tokico Illuminas. I was looking at the HP's also because of the attractive price, but have decided that it wouldn't work. they just can't handle the drop.

can anyone add a word on the maximum drop that could safely be handled by HP's? if any?

it all depends on the spring rates. i say don't go over 1.5" at most.

thanks for the input, i think i will go for the illuminas, but i still dont know which springs to go for.

Anyone have any reviews on sprint springs? or even tokico springs?

Just to add, I had some Tokico HPs that lasted with 8K miles on Maxspeeds and another 5K miles on Progress (1.7F, 1.5R) and that's on a heavy@ss 5th Gen.... right now they're on someone else's ride with H&Rs. Anyways, my point is that the HPs should be able to handle mild drops, I know the Progress drop was pushing it, but it rode fine. I would agree however, that the HPs will not have enough damping to last long with Sprints, Progress, and S-Techs. If ya think you're gonna have a lower drop, then go with Illuminas. I've gotten Illuminas with my Progress springs and I love em.

they will be fine. I just installed HPs with the tokico suspension kit (HPs with Tokico lowering springs). The whole deal came with a lifetime warranty and with the Tokico springs I got nearly a 1.7" drop.

I have the tokico suspension kit that comes with the HPs and tokico springs. I got a 1.7" drop and a lifetime warranty. The spring rates are I believe 280-290 rear and 245 front. I believe that is comparible with the H & Rs.
