Stumped... car won't start

I drove my car to work today and it drove fine. I drove it home and it was fine again. twenty minets after I got home I got in my car and it wouldn't start. It wouldn't even make a noise. nothhing. It was like my clutch wasn't pushed in. I checked to make sure that the button that the clutch pushes in was in, and even held it by hand. same thing. i took out my starter and had it checked and it was good.
I replaced the started for the second time about 2 weeks ago. the plug in on the starter wouldn't go in right. i got it to go eventially, but I thought that it might have been the problem. I put a wire inbetween the two ends of the plugs and say if anything would happen, and I got nothing.
I have no Idea what else it might be. If you have any ideas plaese help me.

No Start No Crank Condition.
1)check ignition switch
2)p/n safety switch
3)relay to starter
4)starter ground

Whenever I've had this problem its been a poor connection at the battery terminal. Clean the connections and make sure they're tight.

alright, I got home from work today and push started my car. I got it running fine but when I shut it off it had the same problem. I called around and found a ignition switch for $26. Put it in and things got even worst. it seemed to fit fine exept the connection was hard to get together for some reason. This is the same problem I had with my starter. Could it be just bad knockoff parts? anyway, I tried to start it and it wouldn't work. Even wost is that now my car won't even switch to "on". The key will turn but the dash lights like the check engine battery etc. won't turn on.
could this be some kind of security system thing?
I tried to put the old one back in and the same thing happened.
also the radio wouldn't work(Bose) it would eject the CD but wouldnt turn on.
any thoughts?!?!
really starting to get mad at my car.
any help greatly apreciated.

Friend had a similar problem on a 2k1 Sentra. Finally gave up trying to figure it out and towed it to the dealership. $400 later he has a new wiring harness and the car has run like a top ever since.

anyone else?

check battery ground, and also check fuses.

maxgtr2000 Jun 9, 2005 05:29 AM

with your driver door open , manually "unlock" it with the key and then try to start it. I had a similar problem because I have dynamat on my doors, sometimes the latch won't "unlock" all the way. I get dash lights but it won't crank/start even with the clutch pushed in, it's a security thing I guess. I'm not even using the factory alarm but I think Nissan has something with the door lock that inhibits the starter if the door lock/latch is not in the fully unlocked position. It's worth a shot before you go wire harness shopping.

Well I figured it out. When I was putting in the ignition switch I blew a buss fuse. $10 later I had it running. thanks for the help
