Drivers's door thunks when shut
 

I checked the stickies and TSBs but didn't find anything on this. a split second after I shut my driver's door, and audible low-pitch double "thunk-thunk" can be heard. anyone know what this is??? I'd rather not tear open my door panel if I can avoid it.

it's after you shut it? my door used to not shut quite right because I left it hanging open for a long time while I was checkin the codes/fuses in there. I just tightened the hinge part and it was all better.

the noise is after the door is completely shut. it seems to come from near the outside handle. almost sounds like a large hunk of iron swinging back and forth inside the door.

hmm. does your window work fine?

maybe the window channel itself is loose. you'll just have to take off the door panel and look.

taking off the door panel is very easy. There's either a stickie or if you look thru and find a post on removing and mounting a mirror assembly, it'll be there...

maybe its the locking mechanism

If its sounds like it's inside, there really isn't any other option. Take it apart. I've only had owned Max's for a couple of months and it only takes me 5 minutes to take off the door panel.
