Whats the difference between maxima and 300ZX front brake lines?
For the front calipers, other than the flange that attaches the calipers itself. what is the difference? Is the connection flange of the brake line that attached to the car's hard line the same size from the 4th gen max and the 300zx? The reason is that I have 300ZX calipers with 300ZX brake lines and want to know if they will bolt up the the car.
I have held the Z lined next to a stock 4th gen max brake lines and the connection "looks" the same size by eyeballing it but unshure if the threads are the same pitch.

If you want to do the 300zx front brake conversion on the 4th gen you will need-
300zx calipers (complete with guide pins, springs ect.)
300zx brake lines (ones that fit, thats why I made this thread)
300zx rotors (you have to machine the thickness to a certain amount to work on a max)
300zx pads.
I think thats all.
All this time I always heard that we need "300zx to maxima" conversion brake lines but I dont know if thats just another term for us needing factory 300zx lines.

Buying the conversion lines eliminates the need for the 300z hardline. And you can't screw the stock type maxima line directly into the calipers. It will physically fit but is the wrong type of connector and will leak. Do it right with the conversion lines. Matt93se sells them cheap enough too. So no need to mickey mouse it.
If you really want to feel a difference in braking, move up to my bbk brackets and a pair of 13" cobra rotors.

Ok so the maxima hardline is different from a Z hardline. The thing is that I have some SS lines here for the Z calipers and im not shure if it is indeed conversion lines or Z lines. They are brand new and the sticker on the bag says "N3-300ZX"
Oh yea Jeff, Im going to be doing the 13" cobra conversion. Got all the parts, just need to get this brake line thing taken care of.

Maxima doesn't have a hardline. I'm not sure if the Z lines are long enough or will screw into the maxima hardline at the fenderwell. Ie.. the part that I'm holding in the picture.
But for every conversion whether it was a maxima or 240sx, they all needed a conversion line of some sort. I like my lines as it gets rid of the hardline.
