How are Tein S springs?
I think I can pick up some Tein S Springs off ebay for like $150. Are they worth it?
They seem to provide the best drop for the money.
If I later get a Y pipe would this cause clearance problems? I plan on getting a Cattman or Stillen Y pipe. Are they known for clearence issues with springs?
2.2" drop Front
1.8" drop Rear

they are generally regarded as very good springs. the ride is definitely a little rougher tho (than stock) verrrry nice drop tho. you wont have any problems w/ y-pipe clearance. just be careful about scraping in general tho on uneven surfaces

generally new struts w/ aftermarket springs are a very good idea. however i know several guys seeing how long they can last on the stock ones. i have a friend running CUT sprints, lower than s-techs, on stock shocks for over a year w/ no problems. im running progress springs right now on my stock struts and love it - but we both plan on getting coilovers soon.
Tokico illuminas are some of the best struts you can buy.
KYB AGXs are also good, but not considered as quality as the illuminas.
that said, there are many guys on here that love their s-tech/KYB setup so its really personal preference.
both of these struts are adjustable by the way.
check out that site i listed - theres a lot of good info there on this stuff.

its pretty bumpy - but, they are cut sprints (which are very low to begin) its too rough for my liking. which is why i went w/ the progress. Go for the S-techs unless you really want to keep your ride close to stock feeling. you will feel bumps more but the handling is amazing.

the other things to keep in mind is that if you put 18s on, the car will ride higher than it did w/ the stockers. i love the drop height of the progress springs on stock wheels but when i put my friends 18s on for a few weeks the car sat to high for my liking. when i get 18s ill get S-techs if i havent already gotten coilovers.

sweet, well just browse that site and decide what your looking for in a setup. remember that the ride height is not always directly related to the handling. Ie. the lowest springs dont necessarily give the best handling

the s-techs are great, i have the s-techs with the illumina struts, and the drop looks great even with my stock sawblade rims, also the springs give the car a very even look, the only drawback to the springs is the ride which is quite stiff, but no biggy.

love my s-techs...i am paired with AGXs.......of course they are going to be more harsh than stock....but if u wanted a stock ride u would leave it stock.....S-techs...are a definately a good bang for the buck....search e-bay u will find cheaper than 150 brand ne in a box....as Bonka said i wish they were a little more stiff as well....due to my serious auto-x schedule with a huge obeise vehicle

ive had my stechs with kyb agx's and i like it. i dont love it.....i like it.
the ride can be bumpy. but it is still a comfrotable ride...nothing compared to stock.
the stechs are a pretty good spring wen it comes to durability. they provide a clean
a s s drop and makes my max look nice with stock sawblades. make sure u have money to buy some nice shocks too. dont buy some cheap crap...spend the money and get the adjustable shocks everyones talkn bout. either the kyb agx or the tokico adjustable one or whatever theyre called.
im happy with my setup.....gets quite bumpy at times but im still experimenting with each setting on all four shocks on ma car.

s tech/illumina setup is niiiiice. Ride is smooth, only harsh over bumps and potholes. BUt the car sticks to the road like glue. There is a mini traffic circle by my job and I fly around it and have not been able to squeal the tires yet.
