Who else can't stand the look of the gray cloth interior seats on the 4th gens?

Yes, I do know that cloth seats have their good points, but I HATE the look of them. Too bad I have no money for the leather swap kit. :(

So I bought those NX Racing walmart seat covers until I get some $$!! :wall:

What have other 4th genners done to mask the look of those disgusting cloth seats?

NCSU_MAX Aug 23, 2005 10:34 PM

Sparcos baby, at least sometime in the future.....

Yea, but what about the back seats? I've always wondered about that. You replace the front seats with racing seats and you have stock looking rear seats. Doesn't it look a little funny? I personally would prefer a more uniform look, ala the leather interior.

NCSU_MAX Aug 23, 2005 10:44 PM

you can actually get material from sparco to cover the back seats that matches the front seats. its like a covering

InsneDrmr Aug 23, 2005 10:47 PM

I have leather in mine...to tell you the truth it only looks good. Winter....its way to cold, even with the heated seats, and summer your cooking. If your going for "back seat lovin" the leather just causes you to slide all over the place..which can interupt the situation. If something gets spilled...you have to be three times as careful getting it off. If someone gets in the car with a chain or something sharp/pointy, zippers etc, they either scratch the seats, or poke a hole in them...which then turns to a large tear. The sun fades them out, and dries the leather so it starts to crack in some spots. All in all...they are more trouble than they are worth.

Ill never give them up.:doublethu

couldnt have put it better myself....philly heat is HOT...and usually my back and *** are pretty wet unless I have the a/c CRANKED

BossMoney Aug 24, 2005 09:16 AM

I have the tan creamy cloth in my max, ive owned the car for only a few months, and im pretty impressed with it, as compared to the gray sh*t that was in my 95 max..my dads 97 max(w/gold package) has the tan leather, and that looks even better.

Maxima99SE Aug 24, 2005 10:14 AM

I hated my grey cloth too.... so I upgraded

http://www.v6atlanta.com/justin/cars%20013.jpg

theyre so much nicer than the old ones

MaxxAddict Aug 24, 2005 01:48 PM

And unlike other mods which actually accelerate the depreciation of the car, a leather swap increases the car's resale value!

lilonasis Aug 24, 2005 04:33 PM

I got leather seats from a junkyard for 200 front and back and trashed my tan cloth. CLOTH SUCKS

Northern Maxima Aug 24, 2005 05:21 PM

One of the reasons I chose my Maxima was for the charcoal gray cloth seats. I just find them more comfortable than the leather seats on my old Maxima. They stay in better condition too and mine are heated, so they're nice in the winter! Leather definitely looks more sporty/classy but I don't mind how my cloth seats look.

hollaatchaboi Aug 24, 2005 08:33 PM

I was tired of the gray cloth, but i couldn't afford the leather....so i tried to make the best of what i had. I dyed the cloth to make it look like racing seats.

To tell you the truth that actually looks half-way decent. I have leather and I love em to death! Leather conditioner once or twice a month and your golden

maxS Aug 24, 2005 09:26 PM

my rear backseat is sun-faded on the top, so it's not gray anymore in that spot!

HUH? Wait, you're saying that GXE cloth seats are different than SE cloth seats? Or are you saying that your GXE cloth seats are better purely due to the condition they are in?

The military has you all over the place man.

I like the grey interior. It looks a hell of a lot better than the beige.

They are different. My car has the SE cloth seats and they are a flat charcoal gray but with inserts that have a jaggedy striped pattern on them. From what I've seen, the GXE seats are a lighter gray/beige and they have a different pattern that covers the entire seat, not just the inside portion.

erty67 Aug 25, 2005 05:08 AM

 you think that's bad, you should try out my 3rd gen's tweed seats. Talk about nasty!

Stephen Max Aug 25, 2005 05:34 AM

There's nothing quite as sexy looking as a black car with black leather interior.

But I'd still rather have my charcoal gray cloth seats.

liqidvenom Aug 25, 2005 11:03 AM

yes SE cloth seats are different than GXE cloth.

maxinthamax Aug 25, 2005 08:01 PM

dang bro.. that looks good.
NICE JOB

DAVE Sz Aug 25, 2005 08:04 PM

I sold/traded my black leather seats for gray cloth. Leather is gay and the cloth seat feel more supportive.

maxinthamax Aug 25, 2005 08:05 PM

true that. leather doesnt hold you as well and its HOOOOTTTTT
