74 light bulb color change in 99 max

74 light bulb color change in 99 max

I was thinkin of buying the blue 74 bulbs and puttin them inside my gauge cluster...does anybody know if they will be bright enough/look good if I just replace the stock ones with blue?

I can't speak for 74s but the 194 tinted blue lights were significantly dimmer than stock. They are basically just regular bulbs with a coat on them. LEDs were about the same as stock.

really? LED bulbs are same as stock? Thats a little disappointing to find out. But most pictures i've seen are so nice and bright.

i replaced my bulbs with the #74 white leds. there is a color filter so it turns a nice blue color. with the leds there are some hot spots, but they are much worse in the pic than in real life. here is what mine look like now



btw- there is one bulb for each gauge and there is one for the trip/ odo. i also put blue in my turn signal and there is one each for those. i tried the blue in the gauges, but it was a little too dim for me

I have #74 from superbrightleds.com and I and everybody else like them, the brightness is about medium meaning its good just want to get #198 soldered there because they are a little brighter.

see the gauges look brighter to me. i duno how it is in real life. I just wanted to change them to red. Trying to go with a all red interior.

my friend "painted" his stock bulbs red with a sharpie and it looked really good, but they faded really quick and turned a gay pink color, os i owuld def do the red leds for that one. but it did look sweet when he did it
