Window won't go up

Put my windows down to let out some heat today and the passanger side won't go back up. I'm guessing the motor is done. Anything I can do to get it back up without going to the dealership? Help is appreciated.

Nope - you'll have to get the door panel off...

For now ->

Do you hear a click when you hit the switch? Another member posted about this the other day and this happened to me a few weeks ago. The passenger side window wouldn't do down. Open the door and clasp the glass with both hands, push the glass up or down, if it moves freely the motor came off track off the regulator. If it doesn't move up or down I would say the motor is shot. I was saying that the motor is held on the regulator by 3 screws WITHOUT LOCK WASHERS!!! Why Nissan decided to do this I do not know. All 3 of my screws vibrated out over time and were inside the bottom of the doorwell. You will have to put the motor button (looks like a 3/8 ratchet button)in the right position to line back up with the regulator receiver hole and put the screws back in. There is not much room to work with being inside the door and all. You may need a stubby phillips screwdriver to get the screws tightened back in.

well i had a situation like that. i was doin the LED swap in the switches and i accidently snaped off some brown thing lol. tried to solder it back on and tested it.
window would go down but not up unless i used the driver side. so i just bought another switch from ebay.

I havent had to replace it but as I understand there is a weak plastic peace that is responsible for keeping the window in position.

I have heard of it being at fault before but as I said I dont have any personal experience . .. just tryin to throw an idea out there

Well I don't know if this will help. But on my old 94 GXE I had the same problem with the back windows. They would go down but not back up.

I could get them back up if I turned he car on and had someone push the button to bring the window back up as I would pull on the window. Either open the door and put your hands on both sides of window to pull up or grab the window and pull. I figured it the motor worked well enough to bring the window down then something was just glitching on the way up. It always worked.

I'd give it a shot before putting nasty as* tape on my window.

this wont help you, but it might make you feel not as dumb as me

a few months ago i was driving and then all of a sudden my windows would not go up. They were 1/4 down, and i got kinda worried cuz it was supposed to rain that day. I came home after work and had my friend come look at it with me. We started to dismantle the door panels. We both then realized that teh window locks were on...

Nice... I brought it to the dealer. $35 to fix. Not huge but sucks anyway.
