Here's a video of me vs. mevi/jwt ecu equipped Max

http://www.v6atlanta.com/bijan/iwalkbruce.wmv

:hs:

This video is SOLEY to show how the ECU and MEVI are not giving some Maximas enough power. I have no idea what the problem is, but see for yourself.

Lumberg™ Sep 9, 2005 07:05 PM

that is interesting, what type and K HID's you got bijan? they look hot at the end.....and whats the matchup like off the line?

NCSU_MAX Sep 9, 2005 07:11 PM

wow - thats amazing, i wonder why that is?

maybe you have a factory freak bijan :)

speed racer Sep 9, 2005 07:19 PM

Damn, you were pulling like crazy. You sure that everything on the other car was tuned properly. i.e. knock sensor. Real Interesting.

DrTySOUFMaX23 Sep 9, 2005 07:27 PM

wow, freakin nice vid. u guys were head to head for a bit until the white max starts to pull, i wish i had a MEVI and JWT ECU so i can throw some input!!

Ceasars Chariot Sep 9, 2005 07:42 PM

downloading now..................

Ceasars Chariot Sep 9, 2005 08:03 PM

cool !

questions:
camera car had 2 people, was bijan alone ? plus bijan has those sick ssr's, who can compete with a max like that, lol ! good vids !! nice battle you still would have thought 3rd and 4th would have went to the mevi equipped max from what people say here

Mishmosh Sep 9, 2005 08:06 PM

Extra person would explain things... is that correct 2 vs. 1?

96sleepergle Sep 9, 2005 08:10 PM

it clearly shows the mevi max starts to pull away eventully will keep pulling

NCSU_MAX Sep 9, 2005 08:12 PM

the max that pulled had the USIM.......

96sleepergle Sep 9, 2005 08:16 PM

thought it was the mevi max

96sleepergle Sep 9, 2005 08:19 PM

who's who in the video

MaxGordon7 Sep 9, 2005 08:19 PM

2 people, rims can make a huge difference......

twlm26 Sep 9, 2005 08:27 PM

if the mevi car lost then something is wrong with your car!!

VIP Maxima Sep 9, 2005 08:29 PM

what size rims was bruce on on ?? bijan u were the only person in the car?

joosdawg Sep 9, 2005 08:35 PM

nice video, thats nuts that the mevi ecu max doesnt pull away let alone loose to a usim max. wow -Ryan

96sleepergle Sep 9, 2005 08:38 PM

improper tuning on the mevi could of caused that

jp_cout Sep 9, 2005 08:39 PM

what's the MEVI about?...what is it doing?..is it the kind of "VTEC" for nissan??

jp_cout Sep 9, 2005 08:40 PM

pretty nice ride BTW...what's your body kit and how much for it?

thanks!

Ceasars Chariot Sep 9, 2005 08:42 PM

bijan is in the white max, the mevi car is the camera car. USIM, wow lets make tshirts !

96sleepergle Sep 9, 2005 08:46 PM

oh ok nice pull but shoot a nother one with out 2 guys in the car that will show whichis better

Nealoc187 Sep 9, 2005 08:46 PM

Bruce's car has something wrong with it apparently from his dyno and your video.

WielkiWaac Sep 9, 2005 08:46 PM

are you saying that maxima with jwt and mevi lost??
thats strange.
nice video.

96sleepergle Sep 9, 2005 08:49 PM

yes that what he was saying but the max with the camera has xtra 100 plus pounds so you cant really say the mevi is no good, now if the were alone just the driver thenit would draw a better conclusion

96sleepergle Sep 9, 2005 08:50 PM

ive raced with a passener and its a difference the way the car pulls

BlueC Sep 9, 2005 09:00 PM

Weight can easily make a difference. :sprint:

Car is probably not tuned right either.

s0ber Sep 9, 2005 09:00 PM

the other guy said his MEVI wasnt staying open in another thread

ThisMaxIsTight Sep 9, 2005 09:04 PM

it needs to be a controlled experiment .. equal passengers, equal amount of gas in each car ..... GREAT VID .. awesome film job ..

Nealoc187 Sep 9, 2005 09:10 PM

Was this video made with Bruce's MEVI being messed up like he just posted about in the all motor forum or was it working there. Also what does the passenger weigh and what wheels does bruce have?

The amount bijan pulled is probably equal to about 1mph through the traps, it was very very slight, maybe 1.5mph. More info is needed to make an accurate determination as to whether or not something is "wrong" with bruce's car or if its just the weight difference causing this.

T-shirts lol. :chuckle:

stephenlc Sep 9, 2005 09:13 PM

I raced my friend Frank, we both had automatic 96 nissan maxima. He had a y-pipe and mevi, and stillen popcharger. My car just had a popcharger. He pulled on my at first but around 60 mph, I pulled on his *** hard untill 110 mph. I beat him like 7-10 car lenghts. His Mevi wasnt working properly, so maybe the guys mevi in the video isnt working properly either.

Here's my take;

1998 gxe 5pd
-yall know the mods - I was the only person in my car

VS.

1997 SE 5spd (FILM CAR)
-yall know the mods
-16" 240sx wheels - 2 avg. size guys - both 6' or so...under 200lbs I think. But on a highway roll like that, that weight wouldnt be a significant factor.

He went to the dyno, and I watched the MEVI flap/rod thingy open, I even held it wide open myself after 5k rpm. He didnt make more than 190whp 200wtq -but close.

Obviously, the MEVI wasnt opening at all, or completely.....or it could be other things. KS could be a factor, or it could be a severe vaccum issue. Who knows......

IMO he should have all the wiring re-run, and maybe a new RPM switch. I still dont know why JWT makes the re-map if it doesnt improve it by a great amount. Kinda stupid IMO.

A Flood99 Sep 9, 2005 09:52 PM

is bruce's dyno chart posted anywhere?

Not that I know of...yet

Nealoc187 Sep 10, 2005 12:24 AM

His dyno chart is posted in the all motor forum. The weight is a definate factor still, though not as much as from a stop. But that sort of weight difference would be about enough to turn 2 cars which are exactly the same speed into a race that looks like that I'd say. I could run some cartest sims to know exactly what it'd do. Maybe I will do that later but I'm too tired right now.

That JWT ECU works well. It was mine, I sold it to him. 13.4 @ 102 boyeeeee.

His dyno was posted, and he is down 15-20whp, the mevi was not opening in those videos, you can hear it if you listen. If his car was operating correctly, he would murder you on the interstate. When my car was an auto (with JWT/MEVI), I could kill a 5spd max with I/Y/E on the interstate.

|Bijan| Sep 10, 2005 08:12 AM

Yup that 15-20whp/tq is where it's at baby! :ben:

Zack342 Sep 10, 2005 08:16 AM

that's not fair bijan his car is messed up as you know from the dynos. You need to race a 200whp max with MEVI/JWT ecu combo.
