skyline r32 headlights

has anybody put the skyline r32 headlights in their max? I bought these a couple years ago and have been sitting around. i always wanted to put them in but popped mine out and noticed there's things in the way and nowhere to bolt them on. im sure it can be done as the look like they are the same exact shape and size. also what about making the projectors xenon? would all i need is the hid kit? thanks a bunch

I know someone has CUSTOM molded the R33 tail lights....
I have no clue about the headlights...
You'de be better off getting ciferos, and selling those R32 headlights for some mooooney

maximazation 10-11-2005 11:00 PM

Heres pics of a Maxima owner who has fitted the R32 headlights. Looks OK, but not as good as the Cefiros.

Regular reflector type headlamp.

blackmaxx96 10-12-2005 06:25 AM

but they look hot when retrofitted!

MDeezy 10-12-2005 06:56 AM

I have a pic of r34 headlights on a 4th gen, they look pretty good. I'll post a pic when I get home from work.

Zammo 10-12-2005 07:01 AM

y cant some company just make us pojector cefiero kits?

MDeezy 10-12-2005 07:07 AM

cefieros just dont look good on a max. I've seen only a hadn ful of maxs that pull it off very well, other than that its just ugly.

99SEmatic 10-12-2005 08:05 AM

I know there is some minor work that has to be done in order to get the cefiros on a max but what all is involved to make it happen? I thought about going with the cefiros when I replaced my headlights but wasn't sure of what had to be done to make them work so I stuck with the standard headlights.

Because there isn't a great demand for aftermarket headlamps for our cars. Thats why we take matters into our own hands. i.e. retrofitting.

DR-Max 10-12-2005 09:17 AM

:sprint: compare the true enthusiast who will stop at nothing to fix up their maximas and make it stand out from the rest, with other maxima owners. The demand is still not big enough to justify production of this particular item by an aftermarket company. Perhaps CE will take on this task someday. But I doubt if they will do it soon.

Very true. I think they look cheap. I hate the smoked ones. I think the 97-99's are without a doubt the cleanest. Just put projectors with angel eyes in those ;)

dabooki 10-12-2005 02:26 PM

the cefiros look ok but since i already have the r32 headlights i was looking to put those in, i think all i need to do is make a hole through some metal so the one bolt can go back further and sit in the right place. then all i guess is making some kind of bracket to bolt it in securely i could probably pull this off but may not look so hot when the hood is popped. i was hoping some people have done this and had some suggestions to give me... also, for the projector in the lamps, i think its halogen right now, so all i would have to do is buy a hid xenon kit for that right?

sunten1 10-12-2005 02:37 PM

If they were just a little bigger to match the corner lamp it would be nice...

dabooki 10-12-2005 02:44 PM

yea, i got the corner lights from the skyline too, they look nicer but i'd have to be a bondo expert to get those in there.. not to mention be able to paint

schilljr 10-12-2005 02:46 PM

i say go with the ciefro's they look better and cost less

schilljr 10-12-2005 02:47 PM

the smoked ones look reall good on the darker max's............http://www.cardomain.com/id/schilljr..... my cars for sale if anyone is interested let me know.........schilljr0816@yahoo.com

95MaxRB26-DETT 10-12-2005 02:48 PM

yeah, go for it. but have fun aiming them correctly once you get them in.

I looked, but sorry man, I don't like it.

dabooki 10-12-2005 02:53 PM

i already have the skyline headlights so cefiros wouldn't be cheaper

dabooki 10-12-2005 02:54 PM

if it ever stops raining i'll see what it will take to get these in and maybe give it a shot

dabooki 10-12-2005 03:54 PM

true but i like how they look with the projectors.. i've seen the cefiros retrofitted but doesn't look as good in my opinion

i know its doable to do this, i just wanted some suggestions from somebody who has done it

kodomo 10-12-2005 03:55 PM

im curious what they look like

dabooki 10-12-2005 04:08 PM

JSMax 10-12-2005 08:32 PM

Look closely at those pictures from the retro'd maxima. I'm pretty sure to fit those headlights from the r32, your gonna have to trim some of the grill off. They look way cool from far away sure, but up close they just don't look right.
just my opinion.
It's your car and your gonna do what you want to it. Keep us informed.

MaximaSE96 10-13-2005 09:17 AM

personally i would do a dual projector.drivig light retrofit like the one seen in this picture

yea those look fugin awesome :doublethu . I've read that thread where the guy is making them and it seems kinda difficult. if i bought spare lamps and had the step by step to doing it, i'd be fine. but also isn't it pretty pricey to do that??

cydrive 10-13-2005 06:04 PM

yeah, between the projectors and everything else, its about $500 from what I've heard. Pricey, but heck if they dont look ****** awesome!

dabooki 10-13-2005 06:12 PM

well if i find $500 laying on the ground i know what to do with it now....

MaximaSE96 10-13-2005 06:22 PM

my plan was to say f-the projectors and just do twin driving lamps

cydrive 10-13-2005 07:01 PM

I hear you bro. I keep thinking, yeah I could do it but its a lot for lamps and if someone hits me from the front, there's goes the entire project!

ethnic6 10-13-2005 07:14 PM

if u want projectors, go to HIDtech.com, they've done a 4th Gen maxima projector fitting... its gonna cost u though... not sure if u want to spend all that money just for headlights
