Sounds like they suck you in with the $100 and then tell you that you need $350 in additional work. How's that sound?

Put your car away then and come back when you have some money to spend to maintain it properly. :vqman:

okay OG e-thug. You wanted opinions, guess what, you got em. Maintaining a vehicle cost money, sometimes a lot of it. You pay for cheap parts, you get a cheap fix. Do a little research here and you can learn a lot, including how to do your brakes for a lot less than $500. Keeping posting with attitude, well, you won't get anything but a free vacation. :grinno:

Please just do the brakes yourself because you'll know what is going into your car. This sounds good, but you'll pay for poor braking and the rotors and pads they offer are cheap material.

dam just chill this is only online forum.

I think you're the one that needs to chill. Next time don't start a thread that asks for other peoples' opinions, and you won't get flamed. I'm a college student too, you don't see me b!tching about it. Get it done then for $100 bucks then and quit complaining.

kbmaxima Oct 14, 2005 06:14 AM

i'd rather spend the extra money now for quality parts, and not worry about them for another year. i spent a little <$300 on brembo blanks and Axxis pads. www.importrp.com get them put on for $60-100 or find someone local to you to do the work and don't worry about brakes for at least a year. just make sure the mech who does the work puts some sort of anti squeal on the components and break in the brakes correctly.

Lesson learned. Ask for opinion? Wear flame retardant suit.

As for the brake deal, it really does sound a little too good to be true. I don't like to mess with the brakes on my car because I don't trust myself, so I know where you're coming from. If you take it to the shop, make sure you get ALL the details of the deal first, before they take your brakes apart and tell you that something else is worn and they can't legally let you drive away...

learning how to do a few new things can save you lots of money.
