Bose won't turn on
 

While at college, my 1996 Maxima was sitting outside in the cold for about 5 days. The Bose Stereo worked fine since we had the car, but Yesterday, I was about to drive home, when my radio wouldn't turn on. I tried CD, cassette, power, and eject buttons and nothing. It's like it wasn't powered at all. The fuses seemed to be fine. Any solutions or similar experiences?

Pull the negative terminal off your battery and put it back on agian. Start your car and see if the radio works. If it does get your battery charged or may be a sign of a bad battery itself.

This happened to me when I let the car set for a week and did not drive it far enough to fullly charge the battery. I put a battery charger on it and the radio has not cut out since. My battery is about 7 years old so it need to be replaced.

This is most likely the case...

OrestP, Bose headunits suck...and they need reset from time to time. Mine randomly stops working, there is no 1 known cause for it. Sometimes I eject a CD and it dies. Sometimes I go over a bump and it dies. Sometimes I shut off the car and it doesn't work the next time I start it. Makes no difference, it's just the headunit.

Check the ground wire for the headunit. It's the black wire. Make a new ground to the DIN bracket that mounts the BOSE. See if that solves the problem.

Thanks for all your replies, I took the headunit out of the car, took it apart, and just sort of resoldered some of the components on the problematic, vertical power board(the one that causes the CD ERR and LCD problems). After I put the stereo back in, it started working again, so hopefully it works for some time. Also, I noticed the radio needs to be grounded nicely too, because it wouldn't turn on with just the back cables in, it's case needed to make a physical connection with the casing/ground in order for it turn on.
