I'm about to take off my factory "racing stripe"

I heard the best idea is a heat gun and goo gone but I don't have a heat gun. I've been peeling some of it off of the driver side fender so I think I'll just make it a long day :o

If you have a hairdryer that might help out...

pin stripe ftw

Hair Dryer will help, if you have a Harbor Freight Tool Supply near you, go there and buy a heat gun, they usually have them on sale for $9.99 and if not it is only $19.99. It won't take near as long. Good luck.

I just removed 4 silver pinstripes off of my project civic the easiest way possible! Go to an automotive paint supply store and ask for a pinstripe removal wheel. It is a rubber wheel that you attatch to a drill and it only costs around 15 dollars. It just takes the stripe off like an eraser and doesn't even harm the paint. I did alot of searching on the internet and the forum and was surprised to see no one else recommended this. :frosty:

Did anyone when removing their pinstripe notice the outline of it after it was taken off...like faded paint or anything?

on my old dark green camry, i noticed the outline. after waxing the car it was invisible and it went away permanently after a month or so.

When I removed the stripes off of the honda the paint underneath was definitely not as faded as the rest of the car, I've heard you can get an abrasive wax that will blend that in, but it is not worth it for me to look into. Maybe someone else has heard of it?

I took off a test area and clay bar'd it and waxed it and you cant tell it was ever there.

When i took mine off, you could see the line if you looked closely, but after a few weeks in the sun, some car washes and a wax, you'd be hard pressed to see a difference even if you were looking for it.
