Inake Question For 95-96 Max's

Recently I brought and air intake off of ebay and I was wondering for those that have a 95 or 96 max, where did you put your air temp sensor or what did you do with it? Also where did your absolute air sensor, MAP sensor?
So if anyone can help me out I'll apprciate it cause I'm getting codes for them now.
Thanx

Wow ... good game. You should have a hole in the first piece of your intake for your IAT. Your MAF should have remained the same and stayed between the resonator and the pipe that goes to the filter.

You know I bet the reason everyone "loses" ponies on the intake because they ziptie the damn IAT instead of properly fitting it into the intake. I hacked mine up and stuck it in there.

If you ziptie it then the computer is reading warmer temps.

Hmm good point, how exactly did you fit the hose in? B/C I know that the hoses that Ebayers send never fit, so would the stock hoses fit the new intake?

Anyone with pic's of what they did or what works for them?

that air temp. sensor is only used for some diagnostics, so zip tie it, leave it hanging, it doesnt matter because it doesnt affect your engine's operation in any way. mine is just sitting my the shock tower.

This is where mine is as well. I would still like to put it in the intake, but I am not sure it will help anything.

when i brought mine from stillen it came with a precut hole in the middle and i just plugged it in there for the 97. when i brought my filter for my 96, stillen said to zip tie it close to the filter thats it. i dont think you lose any hp from that

NmexMAX Jan 24, 2006 10:43 AM

I used to it in the filter so it would be directly in line with the intake air,(center of MAF) butt dyno said :ben:

I have it shoved in one of the filter grooves right now actually.

When I had it hanging, it would enarly die upon low speeds less than 10 MPH.

what about those of us with the place racing style. That sensor will not reach into the fender well. Plus I doubt you would want to put it there. I may try to work on this this weekend, to try to come up with something.

just extend it it's very simple. i had to extend my maf when i installed the s/c
so it wont effect anything as long as you use the same gauge wire and solder it properly.

so you think it DOES make a difference.
i'll have to figure something out, but seems like the options are limited.

I think it does, but what I think and what facts and data permit are 2 entirely different items.

i tried both didnt notice any difference, and didnt throw codes either way.

NmexMAX Jan 26, 2006 08:07 AM

I never got any codes either just as.s. dyno felt better but even dyno jets aren't that accurate, and well, as.s. dynos are just plain :007:
