Ksport Coilovers: Need feedback!!

I'm interested in purchasing Ksports for my 98 Sentra and since the 4th Gen max and the sentra share similar suspension layout I was hoping some of you already using Ksporst could offer some advice on the quality and durability as well as ride comfort from these coilovers. For me it's basically a toss up between these and Teins. Any info provided would be greatly appreciated.

i would get them over teins since they are a lot more adjustable. ride quality is very very smooth compared to other setups.

Ksports give you more adjustability and are easier to install. They are also much cheaper to rebuild if they ever go bad, and their customer service is much better.

Tein Basics are more of a plug-in-and-forget solution, and are less likely to need periodic maintenance.

Ksports with the default spring rates (9 kg/mm front, 6 rear) will ride a little rougher but handle better than the Teins (which are 7 front, 6 rear). But since you're in Brooklyn, if you do go with the Ksports, I would strongly recommend getting them with 7 front/5 rear springs. They'll ride better and the shocks will last longer, but it won't cost you any more and they'll still probably handle a little better than the Teins (because they have pillow ball mounts in front and don't reuse any stock suspension parts).

Thanks guys for all the input. I'm still in the process of reading that thread. Dam it's long, but it's got lots of info and it has educated me about these particular coilovers. I think my mind is made up already. Thanks!!!

It would be much better to order and install softer springs for your Ksports. Rubber bushings won't make that much of a difference and might wear down faster with stiff suspension.

If my car looks like this after an alignment

/................l
is this due to a bent strut or control arm? I'm hoping it's the strut then I can get a new one under warranty. I mean, as soon as these were installed it's been like this. Ksports are great but their qc is questionable. On my rears, one of the top strut mounts came with a STRIPPED bolt lol, I was like wtf? So I complained and was sent a new one. But if that was the case then who knows if the struts are even tested for bends?! Guess I'll be swapping them around tomorrow to see if the problem shifts over to the drivers side. I'll report back..

If your car looks like that AFTER an alignment, and if the alignment shop didn't tell you anything was wrong, the problem is that the mechanics are morons and you need to get very angry and demand your money back. If there were anything wrong with your struts or control arms, it would be extremely difficult or impossible to get the alignment fully within spec and they would have said something.

One thing that might have happened is that they messed with the camber plates or the strut mount bolts and forgot to tighten them fully. On the Ksports' lower strut mounts, the upper bolt hole is elongated to allow for a wider range of camber adjustment (the lower bolt hole is circular, like stock). If the shop forgot to tighten that upper bolt properly, it might shift. and give you some strange camber.

The fronts are not supposed to be interchangeable anyway, so switching them isn't really an option.

yea, the shop told me its either bent c arm, spindle or hub? now someone is tellin me its he strut. i don't think its the strut either. I'm not going to do it, but if I were to swap them out and swap the camber plates, theyd be interchangeable right? I'm tempted to check that elongated hole..

Any time. So it was the strut bolt?

If it was, you should definitely get a free alignment from those guys...

If you want to retighten it, take it out completely and degrease the hell out of the nut, bolt, and contact surfaces on the lower mount (with gum spirits, brake cleaner, or whatever). You also might want to torque it down harder than spec (which is 110 lbs-ft) because it will have to hold against greater forces than with the stock suspension.

Nope. They're definitely different products. The differences are fairly small, though; mostly in the mounting and adjustment hardware. They work pretty much the same.

I kno that all coilovers are bumpy, but when yu ride on the Ksports is it rough and how it's like when to go over a shietty road and shiethole, cuz right now i have AGX KYB and am not liking it. ITs so rough, it only smooth when am on like a good condition road, highway and a fast speed. Can yu tell me about the Ksports under those conditions? Thanks, cuz am looking to buying it in a couple of weeks, but not sure what to buy. Either TEIN Basic (goodsprings rates) or Ksports (9/6 which is ok)

From what I hear, the Ksports will definitely ride better than S-Techs with AGX. And yes, TEIN Basics will ride even better than that.
