Air temp sensor different on some 97's

I talked to nissan and they said that some 97's have 98 changes to emissions. The origional 97's should have 2 screws holding it in. So when you order anytype of cai, make sure that you check what type of air temp sensor you have..

This is a 98 type.

I ended up plugging the hole and leaving the sensor to hang in the engine bay. So far car runs fine. Does this sensor have anything to do with a/f mixture?

Post this in the FAQ area for those that need to know this. Nice information.

It's not really a big deal, anyone can find a way to make it work with or without the two screw setup.

yea the car will still run... don't worry. some people just leave their air temp sensor hanging in the engine....
