Can't get clearance lights out Need help

I bought new DC clearance lights to put in and now I cant get the old ones out. I have looked in the haynes manual which says pull straight out. I am doing that but it seems the hook is stuck on the bottom not allowing it to come out. Anyone else had this problem or what is my solution?

try prying it with a flathead screwdriver with a rag over it

Yea I had the same problem when I was changing the bulbs. You just gotta keep pulling on it, it comes out.

Its harder pulling them than you think. When I was taking mine out I thought I was gonna break them I was pulling so hard. Once you pull hard enough they will pop right out of the mounting holes.

Geez my hands are about to fall off already pulling so much. I am pulling right between the clearance light and headlight is that the best spot?

Im pulling so hard my car moving back and forth but still not got the clearance light out

Anyone have a solution? I cant get it to budge. I used a screwdriver and rag also but that didnt work. Maybe if I heated up the rubber it would come out easier

After removing the single screw on top, pry the top part back gently with a screwdriver. You should be able to see the ball that is stuck in the socket that is holding the whole thing in now. It's on the bottom. Spray WD-40 or preferably PB Blaster directly on it with the straw. Let it sit for about 20 minutes. Now pry back as much as you dare and insert a 24" prybar between the headlight and cornering light AT THE BOTTOM. Carefully use the bar to pry the ball loose and the whole thing will pop free. Then slide it forward from behind the bracket holding it in place at the back. When it's out, lubricate the socket well with petroleum jelly or something similar so that it won't be so bad the next time you remove it. Good luck.

There is a nub at the bottom. So i take a long flat head and squeeze it down there and twist, comes out withing seconds.

I know what you mean. I had a problem getting one of mine out. The passenger side just silpped out the way it is supposed to . . the driver side took way too much effort, and the little plastic nob wound up snapping off. Thank god for the screws.
