I believe these are one of a kind :)

DTM LED tails. I don't think these have been made yet. One lucky member in NY will get these.

Yes, the one led that is out at the top has already been fixed ;)

BlackMaxdout 04-02-2006 02:41 PM

that's really cool. I was going to try to make these over the summer when I have some free time. Relatively easy if you have some blank circuit board and a ton of LED's. I was going to do a unique pattern though. Did you make these?

Kevlo911 04-02-2006 02:43 PM

Yeah I made them.

Fr33way™ 04-02-2006 04:10 PM

Those look good. Nice work Kevlo.

Pieps 04-02-2006 04:49 PM

Lookin good, Kevlo

DragonMaxima 04-02-2006 05:17 PM

Is that a crack I see on the left side?

Kevlo911 04-02-2006 05:44 PM

Yes, few cracks :(

I took off the price for that and he is gonna use his lenses on the ones he wants to.

|Bijan| 04-02-2006 05:51 PM

damn kavl0w!

I might have to beat that!

descent 04-02-2006 06:03 PM

how did you make it them get brighter as you press the breaks when the tails are illuminated at night?

Fast1one 04-02-2006 06:07 PM

^^^Looks like two sets of LEDs....one set is always on when the lights are on...the other turns on when you brake ;) Hey bro can you make me some? PM me...

Brushedpewter 04-02-2006 06:13 PM

not only they look better but they waste less electricity. If you were to replace all bulbs in the car to LEDs you'd actually gain some hp.

lilaclucymaxima 04-02-2006 06:42 PM

Very nice. I wish I had some free time to make a set.

1FSTMAX 04-02-2006 06:54 PM

how much for LED inserts?

chillin014 04-02-2006 06:56 PM

whats the electrical recipe, i want to do this on my 95 red clears

Kevlo911 04-02-2006 06:58 PM

I dont have prices for my next set yet. I am going to use Superflux LEDs which are suppose to be MUCH better. They cost more but it is what cars use stock nowadays.

tcrow31 04-02-2006 07:01 PM

One of these day im going to finish replaceing all the worn part on my max then i'll be able to do something cool like for my car.

99grnmaxgxe 04-02-2006 07:03 PM

D@mn those look awesome!:doublethu

it's relatively easy. You can get blank circuit board with a bunch of rows of these little tiny holes. Then, if you get 12 volt LED's (a crap load of them), wire them in series in rows or in a pattern of your choice. Since LED's draw very little amperage, you can wire them in series without them dimming very much. One set for brakes, one set for lights at night. Then take a bulb and break it, and remove all the leftover glass. Take the 2 negatives from both sets of LED's, and solder them to the ground side of the lightbulb base. Take the positive of the night lights side, and wire it to the correct positive side on the base, then take the positive to the brake light set and wire it to the OTHER positive side of the lightbulb base. It should all theoretically work. But remember, if you switch the polarity on LED's, they don't work at all, so you have to get your positive and negatives correct.
Is there anything I am missing?

descent 04-02-2006 07:29 PM

you didnt mention anything about resistors

MDeezy 04-02-2006 07:54 PM

One of a kind indeed. . . They look damn good.

well I said to use 12 volt LED's, in which case you wouldn't need any resistors. If you use anything less, then yes, you'd need to incorporate a resistor ahead of the first positive lead. All of the LED's combined should result in a draw big enough so that it doesn't affect the blinker relay and cause it to blink too fast.

maxima_kenny96 04-02-2006 11:33 PM

I really like those, good job.

D-Bo 04-02-2006 11:41 PM

:bowdown1: Those looke nice Kevlo!!

Dubbya 04-03-2006 08:23 AM
