4th genner's. How Do YOU Clean Your Fogs?
Seeing as our fogs are glass i know we cant wetsand them. but my fogs look only and i wanna restore the look to them since im putting hid's in the fogs later tonight. what should i do to restore the look of them?

Actually if you wanted to, you could sand them. It's not something I'd reccomend without a lot of time and patience, though. You'd need many, many grits of sandpaper including several of extremely high grit, along with glass polish and a buffer. Not really worth the results.
Short of doing that, though, there's not much you can really do. I thought about it when I was retroing projectors into my fogs the other day and came to the conclusion it just isn't worth the effort for something you won't notice unless you're up really close. |
Buy new ones.

Polish with fine cut car polish. It's not nearly as aggressive as wetsanding, but it will remove gunk on the glass.

All-in-all, it's going to take me removing the lenses again and completely ridding the lenses of the lines/flutes, which is a lot of work. Something I don't feel like jumping into right now, considering the retrofit itself was a pain in the arse. It definitely lends itself to HID use much better, though. You can throw in D2S bulbs nearly unmodified, still have a half-decent cutoff (even with the fog lense with lines on it), and throw out tons of useable light. HIDs won't be going into these things anytime soon, though. Too much $$$ for not a lot of practicality. Here is a comparison of how the projectors look now compared to the old fogs... Projector w/ no fog lense on vs. stock fog: http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...parison2-1.jpg Current projectors w/ fog lense on (unaimed): http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...ghttime1-1.jpg ...and in my sig you get a good idea of how they look. |
the yellow is too dull for me. but besides that looks nice.

I just bought fogs lights and they shattered again 1 week later. I did notice they are kind of hot. Maybe that is my problem? Who knows. I hate Canadian roads. I was down in Texas on my way to Costa Rica, and your guys POS 88 Ford Tempos are in better shape (paint wise) then my car. Piss me off.
