going on trip, need help with EVAP codes...quick!
So I got these codes after getting home today. 0215, 0704. The 0215 says its a non-existent code, tho I've gathered from other sources its related to the EVAP system.
0704 is the EVAP control system pressure sensor
Anyone fix these items and or know how to get rid of this code? I hear a common cause is having your "canister vent control valve" stuck open...where is it ?
All I know is there's a big black box under my drivers side rear tire, and theres many hoses and such attached to hit.
A how-to step by step from someone would be super. I hear its a5 minute job to remove and clean the canister control valve?
Im leaving on a 500 mile trip and would like to resolve this ASAP. Thanks

I like getting rid of my codes....I dont think you have to worry about any evap codes for a 500 mile trip....I drove from SJ to south Florida with a check engine on....over 2500 miles...actually I drove for 1-1/2 years in my old max with my check engine light on, lol...never even checked it....thats when I was REALLY a newbie...and I was getting 350 to the tank

With that boost sensor faulty, the car is going to have problems starting when the weather is hot, and the car is fully warmed-up.
And what's with the constant mention of that Nissan dealer? Didn't they post on this forum like there was no tomorrow, and then one-day pull their discount?

I had an evap code, don't remember wat code it was specificly, but it came on wen i was racing a bmw 97 328 is, smoked him anway :-) but as i was hitting 115 mph my check engine light came on. next morning, checked it out, the code was evap related, then i cleared it, never came on after that. Don't know if it makes any sense. 4 ur cases i wud change the evap control valve and the evap canister.

Seems like this is a common failure on our cars. I replaced mine a few years back - $100 DOH!
Check the hoses first - theyre much cheaper. See if you can hear any hissing sound from behind the drivers side rear wheel just after you've driven the car.
I drove for weeks until I worked out what this code is. The EVAP system just stores gas vapors that evaporate in the hot sun during the day, when you drive, the inlet manifold sucks the vapors out of the carbon cannister and burn them. If you're leaking on this system then you're only destroying the ozone layer.

i honestly don't know how long i had the code. i found out i had the light when i went to take it in to get inspected. my girlfriend's picture was in the way, so it could be months that im runnin on. i cleared the code and it came back. there is a small black cylinder behind the canister that has an open bottom and a single hose running out of the back of the car, and im thinking that's the control valve. i can't seem to move to piece inside to open it. hell, i'm not even sure if im in the right spot so whatev. i really don't want to go to a shop and pay $100 for something stupid
