i believe its cuz of goin over bumps and bad roads...cuz when there's a great vibration ... my CD player lags and makes weird noises for 3-4 seconds..then goes bak to normal..

It might be similar to the display problem though. Either way, your going to have to open her up.

Remember where your buttons are .. previous is the 1st button, next is the 3rd, rewind is 4th, and FF is 6th. Anyway, my I30 has the same problem.. except theyre not all dead, only 2 buttons are dead. I'll appreciate productive imput on what to buy(are they leds?) and how to replace.

I dont even really look when I changed the song or station. Just remember what button is which its not hard. I would still fix it just sayin remember which one is which its safer

you could either:

(1) buy the bulbs from Nissan, open up your Bose, and swap em out

(2) open up your Bose, solder LEDs instead of the bulbs [http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=378940]
an old thread i made and had help from Igobuk. The only crutch I had was getting the brackets off the Bose unit itself to open it up. I tried once, and never had time to do so again. Some advised to use a power drill.

(3) buy a used Bose unit in good condition, swap em out, and use your old one to experiment with LEDs, or I'll take it and pay for shipping.

(4) get a new car? LOL

cause there great!!!... plus finding headunits on ebay ... 30$ sometiems lower...

i mean unless your going for show car... btu if performance is what your into.. i jsut cant picture puting a huge box int eh trunk + amps... i mean the bose offers great sound.. only thing i would change in the iRide is putting in a tweeter somehwere on teh back door.. and this would be a bose tweeter(with the oem black grill/cover)... the rear lacks a bit on the highs...

but in the drivers seat.. it sounds great... the headunits go out after a while i mean the car is a decade old (mine is anyway)...

i replaced it with a Headunit from the 2001 QX4(single din unit, great replacement if you want to add on dvd and other stuff).. wich has:
1. bettersignal processing.... music does sound alot better
2. aux input (which is via a PLUG in the rear and is activated with a 12v sig (has left and right channel for ipod)
3. cd changer controll
4. steering wheel control
5. telephone input (lowers my music and plays the voice thorugh the pass. front speaker
6. navi input (lowers music and plays the voice guidance from the OEM 2001 QX4 navi i hard wired through the left driver fornt speaker)

Which reminds me i gotta put up a video of the Navi working.. and make it into a STICKY...
i love the bose system and the speakers and nice a deep bass.. its not a show car with 3 subs in the trunk with a mono block... its a nice sounding system...

I like to keep my OEM Bose radio cause A) mine still looks mint ( no letters/numbers rubbed off)
B) I don't feel like changing all my speakers afterwards
