I have power but the car won't even crank, and I just drove it 10 minutes ago
Ok, so I hop in the max to go to the store real quick.. Starts up with no problem, drives with no problem. I park and go into the store for 10 minutes, come outside and the car wont start. it gets to the poiint where all the lights come on on the dash but it doesn't even crank. I thought it had something to do with my alarm,, I disabled it and still no crank. I checked my fuses and they are all ok..
When i try to turn the key I hear a noise close to where the fuse box it, like a click, maybe its a relay,, hell I have no idea... Please help. My car is just stuck on the street and I need to move it from where it is |
Same thing happened to me i went down the street to get gas and after i fueled up the car would not start. It ended up being the starter. Tryand and see if you can get something to bang on it that MIGHT help.

Same thing happened to me a week ago. I bought a new battery and it still did it. I took off the battery cables and thoroughly cleaned them on both ends and then sprayed all connections with electrical cleraner when I reassembled. I haven't had a problem since

Lock it, unlock it again with the key this time.
Try to set off the alarm and disarm: Sit in car, arm alarm; wait 30 seconds for security light to go from solid to flash; open door from inside -- alarm should go off. Silence/disable. Lock doors from outside and unlock with key, try to start car. |
I had a similar problem back in February. I could hear a click when trying to start it, but no crank. This means it isn't the alarm - it TRIES to start.
Here is the confusing thing - when jumped, it would start. I replaced the battery, and it started. Then, the next time I tried it didn't start. I replaced the starter, and have been fine since then. |

It's either the ignition switch or the starter.
