Got/Fixed a Busted ECTS? You're cordially invited.....
I checked my codes and got Knock Sensor and Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor .
I know how to fix the KS, but what about the ECTS? I know the part is cheap, but where is the sensor and how do you fix it?And what kind of tools do I need to fix it? Thanks for your replies in advance. I hope this thread adresses anyone else who's cars go on strike randomly........ |
its easy. the coolant temperature sensor is located on the radiator pipe connected to the drivers side radiator hose coming from the radiator. it probably has a blue or red color near its base and i think its a two pin connector. just take it off with a wrench (14mm?) and screw the new one in its place.
im suprised you found the knock sensor instead of the easier coolant temp sensor... |

Also the one next to it, the smaller one is for the temp gauge, right?

So important they measured it twice?!?
I dunno, why didn't they just design the ECU to use the same sensor as the gauge? Those wacky Nissan engineers:laugh: |
BTW nhaven - nice pix!

Yup, after I go to Ace Hardware...oops, wait, they don't carry Nissan A32 Temp Sensors... /joke.... For real, ( I know this sounds dumb) , where do you order/buy this part? I heard the stealership from another thread, but I'm leery of such commercial entities (/cough "Cartel" /cough) |
AutoZone and Advance-Checker Auto have them.

It's a different sensor http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j9...n/S5001750.jpgNotice the other one behind the hammer.

Sorry, didn't know that.
How come they are listed like that. I mean just the $21.35 for the max and just the $11.05 for the i30? |
One is blue with 2 prongs for the ECU
The other is black with 1 prong for the gauge. |
