People with lowered Maxima's Please Read.
 

I have a set of Tires. 225/40/z18's ( i think) They are Yokohama PRADA (Spelling). I only use them in the summer (2 summers now), which is about 4-5 months out of the year. I kinda drive like an ***. But, the point I am getting at is my stearing is always pretty damn stiff. To turn the stearing wheel. I find I need to almost use some muscle to hold the car straight, where as my moms alero and my dads dakota I can use my pinky.
My tires are pretty much out of tread, and worn more in the insides of the tires. I have had alignments, and he says (they are in nissan spec).
Anyways, I lowered my car with Tokico 5 ways, and Eibach Pro kit. I have heard from a few people, Get some camber bolts, but others say DONT. Does anyone use camber bolts???? Is there any way to adjust the camber on our soild rear axel? The rear tires slant inwords at the top more then I would like.

So bottom line, 1.Should my tires last longer then they did??
2. Did anyone install camber bolts for the front struts?
3. Is there any spacers avaliable (or something) to change the amount the rear tires slant???

4. This is kind of off topic, BUT is it a big deal that I never shaved my front Bump stops as per tokico instructions????

Hey fellow Canuck :) I have the same set up as you except I'm on 17's. The eibachs do seem to drop the rear low (though my car seems even, i have no system in the trunk). I figure the camber may appear quite a bit negative on the rear because of the low drop. Are you having rear inner tire wear? If so something is not right. Did you align your tires soon after the drop? If not this may have caused abnormal wear.

Sorry fellas but there is no way to adjust camber in the rear, nor could lowing change it in any way. Its a solid beam and it doesnt change angle relative to the ground.

Eibachs dont lower the front enough to warrant the use of any camber adjusters. There shoud be nough play in the 2 lower strut bolts to get it within spec.

If any of your tires are wearing out on the inside, check your toe. Chances are you have excessive toe out. Also by the sound of it you need tie rods or a new steering rack.

speaking of that J, do you have any wear problems with the GC's? I'm thinking of KSports and I'm wondering how far I can before, ouch..

My car is not all that low right now, and I have camber plates so there shouldnt be any excessive wear.

yeah massively OT but have any gripes about KSports or heard any.. .

The Ksports/D2 are good for the money. You really cant go wrong, but the damper is nothing special. Everyone knows Konis own, just most can afford them.

I think the steering feeling stubborn like that is normal. On my dad's suburban I can easily turn with one hand, but on the max I have to give a little more effort. ridn' on stock.

Stop compairing apples to oranges. The large heavy 18"s aren't helping.

Inside wear can be incorrect toe or excessive negative camber. If the alignment shop told you the car was "within spec" and you still have excessive inside edge wear, find another alignment shop.

Camber usually doesn't go that far off with an Eibach drop, but toe goes way out when you lower a 4th gen Maxima. Toe out \ / will cause excessive inside edge tire wear more so then camber will. Toe out will also cause a very lazy steering feel that needs much more input from the driver, which is sort of what you describe.

Find a good alignment shop, have the car aligned and checked for any loose steering components. Post the specs up here when it's done. Put new or at least evenly worn tires up front before you have that done.

im sitting on k sports with heavy 19's and -0.5 camber. my suspension gemoetry is as off as it gets but the car is aligned every 2 months. my steering wheel is very loose, i can easily turn the wheel with the pinky at ANY speed !

i dont know what to tell you......

18's progress drop 2inch, kyb, no uneven tire wear, and can use pinky to drive it as well, got it aligned the day the drop was done and bought the lifetime alignment package at Firestone when ever i feel like the car is pulling i bring it in, has to be something else
