The Traction Control System cancel switch (if so equipped). This is explained in Chapter 2 of your Owner's Manual.

Dan,
I don't have the original manual that came with my car, but this http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/pdfs/...san-Maxima.pdf one does not mention anything about TCS. Should I assume that I have traction control since I don't have an option of canceling it?
Also, I was thinking of getting the actual switch that goes there and using it as a starter kill switch. What do you think?

Thanks
Roman

Just the opposite. If you have no cancel switch, then you don't have TCS.

I like the idea. You could wire it as a starter inhibitor or a fuel pump relay disabler, whichever is easier.

I'm probably going to get another brightness controller and wire it up to control my intelliglow needles so I don't have to use the included control box. Here's hoping they're the same resistance. :)

That is what I did.

Homelink visor? No, no, no.. I want the button and switch to go RIGHT THERE. Besides, those things cost money. My idea costs <$5 depending on where I find that plastic piece.

:)

My RX300 has a homelink visor. Something that I didn't know is slightly inconvenient until I started using it: When I fold it down to block the sunlight, the button will be on the other side that I can't see. I have to either fold it back and press the buttom, or touch and feel the right buttom then press. Maybe I'm too picky but the spot next to the dim control is a right place to me to have the button.

I took the insert out and drilled two holes, one for the push buttom, the other for an red LED. I soldered two pairs of wires from the original LED and push button. The new wires run from back of this new insert, along the back of dash board all the way to the left and down to the "pocket" next to the foot rest. My orginal garage door controller sits in there. I didn't modifiy anything except bring out two pairs of wires. I didn't compare before and after but control distance seems enough.

Did you buy a new homelink visor? My old one won't handle the new rolling code garage door openers. Wouldn't mind upgrading if I could get one cheap. Is all of the homelink unit contained in just the small unit on the visor?

don't know. you can probably tell by taking out the visor (i think 2 screws) and seeing how many wires go into the visor. if there is only 1 wire going into the visor, then i'd assume that everything was self contained in the visor as that one wire is the positive power for the vanity mirror and homelink, grounding back to the body via the two screws holding the visor onto the car.

I believe in some older I30 it is the switch for the feul door opener.

Where do you guys get this Traction Control thing from?

I have a 1996 GLE with all options except heated seats and ABS. I don't recall there being an option for traction control. I look in my manual and that fourth button is ignored completely. It's actually always bothers me. Was traction control offered after '96? If so, why do I have a blank button there? Just a place holder for Nissans' future option(s)? Maybe it's just me but it really bugs me that the Cruise control panel is black and frosted, the alarm led is black and smooth, the dash dimmer is black and smooth and the 4th blank is dark gray and smooth! Maybe I'm just too picky... lol. Anyway, here's a question. I've often thought about putting another alarm led in th home of the blank button. Can this easily be done? I've always feared a would-be stereo-steeler will only look in the right/passenger window and not see the led. What do you guys think?
