I'm back

Hey guy finally bought another max. My 96se was totaled earlier this year. I just bought a 97gle. I'll be modding it all this week since I still have my ingen cai, y-pipe, rims, audio/video system, chrome oil cap, stillen front lip, zex nitrous kit and exhuast tip. I'm looking to purchase some coilovers since the lowering spring from the old car can not be used but most likely I will get groundcontrol or weapon r (anybody know anything about these coilovers systems). Also I am selling the INGEN CAI and will stay with the stock system since this max is a auto and I want to retain my low end punch.

As for the ingen cai, I am looking to sell it locally

I would never go with either of those coilover brands unless you dont care about ride quality and blowing your struts since u will prolly go lower than they can handle. just spend the money and go with some ksports(like $800). they are the best for the price right now I believe. Check out the suspension forum for the best info on that tho.

i would never put nitrous in a car i wasnt gunna race on the track and put all my money into. cause eventually youll probably just blow the engine. plus, its wicked ricey IMO

If you were planning to mod for performance why get a GLE to start?

he makes a good point. lol

and yea, IMO, nitrous in a regular dailey driver is ricey.

it means he races on the street if he doesn't go to the tracks... but hey what a person does with his/her car is their own business, u can't tell them otherwise if its their own perocative. unless he cares about what other people say and think and will crack under the pressure :chuckle:

well post so me pics up and lets have a look see

thankyou, for everyone else if your afraid of nitrous just say it. I think it's a better idea to have a car that is fast and not just look the part

I heard but thats what dremel is for, but really I am goin to see just how different it is and if it's just alittle off then I am not afraid of alittle cutting

hey so whats wrong with weapon-r and ground control. On my old car I had b-g progressive springs with a 1.6 drop all around which were fine but I figure for alittle more money if I could get a coilover then what the hell. Do these companys have a bad ride, breakage problems, etc just looking for input. I'm not looking to spent 800.00

Yeah but you run out of it and have to take some measures to activate it... you can't just hit the gas whenever you want, wherever you want and have it take off the same (unless you leave it activated all the time... yeah). I guess that's just the purist in me talking though, if you really want more oxygen in your combustion chambers then just cram it in with a snail.

Also, the auto drivetrain is the same in all of the trim levels, but a stick shift isn't offered with the GLE, and it's the heaviest of them all, albeit not by much.

true but I brace race so the auto is bettter for me since it is easier to get consisent times at the track. And the nitrous is people who like to talk smack on the street or track. So some real speed I also have a 91 s-10 with a chevy 350 in it

Enjoy the weight and long gear ratios, not to mention more drivetrain loss.

nguyen925 Sep 11, 2006 10:00 PM

is this a 5 speed? why bother with a zex nitrous kit? your only getting cheap power that damages your engine severely..
