Ben's rear suspension mounts

Can someone post a link or email so I can hunt down a set of these?

Also, anyone care to share their experiences with these?

thanks in advance

You will need to find them used.

They work and many people have been satisfied with them.

IIRC there is a thread in the group deal section (unless it has been pruined).

I have a set I bought a while back but never used. Let me know if you are interested, they are brand new, I just need to find them.

wow...ok, i can see the difference, but can someone explain what they do exactly?? Thanks

They move the piston rod up so it wont bottom out. Its adds about 1" to the downward stroke. There are a few different brands of them so if you cant find bens I can point you in the right direction. The idea has been used for years, originally by Motivational Engineering for the B14 chassis.

So if you drop you car 2' it's not gonna bring it back up 1' right? it just give it the extra cushion. Do you hear any noise from them on bumps or whatever? If Ben's aren't around anymore, which ones would you recommend??? I dropped my car about 1.5' and it's making some type of claking noise over bumps on one side of the rears, I think it's from the stock strut mounts I reused...So if these would help out in all these aspects IM IN!

RA030726 Oct 15, 2006 09:46 AM

You shouldnt have any noises with any mount. Ususally the noise is comming from an improper install or the coils binding due to the progressive rate springs, which in that case just wrap the upper coils with spiral wrap or split loom.

No it wont change the ride height. The piston will actually stick further into the car so when the suspension travels downward the strut wont bottom out inside.

We have 3 choises:
Bens mounta, who knows if he will make more.
Motivational mounts, discontinued and out of buisness.
Mep mounts, g20.net.

I've had them in my car for a while now. I have been pleased with the results.

If anyone is looking for increased-travel rear mounts, I have a set for sale since I just bought coilovers.
