Remus Exhaust Q's?

There's a company here in Auckland that can sell me a REMUS exhaust system (resonated B-pipe and rear muffler) for my SMX. Anyone here had any experience with REMUS exhausts on their rides?

the BMW guys love them....my buddy has one on his M3 sounds great....

ewuzh Jan 16, 2007 10:26 PM

I second that statement. I generally have only seen them on BMWs.

Olezhka Jan 16, 2007 11:00 PM

I hear they are good, but only seen them on BMW's and Audi's.

They're a European exhaust firm and they do make them for the 4th gen - they call Maximas the QX in Europe. I've only ever heard good things about them so maybe it will be better than the RPS cat-back I've got which drones far too much at lower speeds.

Send me your SMX and I'll let you know.

where can i see pics for the 4th gen and poss. some sound clips???? thanks

They make great exhausts. Have not seen many single-tip designs though.

Olezhka Jan 17, 2007 12:23 PM

I think the A4 Turbo had dual remus exhausts and each one had a single tip.

Try it out and then post audio clips. Nice SMX btw

Well, I checked it out about half an hour ago. Swung by their store and the guy got it wrong - it's only the rear muffler with no B-pipe attached.

He's asking $750NZD for the rear muffler alone which is expensive alright - my headers, front flexi-joint and Y-pipe from Woolf cost me $1,100NZD installed...if I can beat him down in price (not literally...hehe...) I'll buy it, get a B-pipe from Woolf to suit, install it and post up some sound clips for you guys. :)

Cheers for the input and compliments boys.

Interesting. I've always wanted to hear one on a Maxima. A friend has one on a Acura Legend coupe and it sounds great.

PHAT6 Jan 17, 2007 10:32 PM

I've heard them on Audis, Beemers and a lot of other little euro boxes like the Focus RS and so on and they make a four banger sound like a V6...so maybe I'll sound like a 302 Cleveland.

Nismo Jan 17, 2007 11:16 PM

Let us know if you get one and try to get some sound clips.

Ceasars Chariot Jan 18, 2007 06:40 AM

get the cattman catback

PHAT6 Jan 18, 2007 01:14 PM

Hey Caes, I know. I know.

But shipping takes a while to bring it over and this is here...now. Patience...is a virtue I struggle with.

retrospex Jan 18, 2007 03:17 PM

i've got a remus on mine attatched to a greddy mid pipe. it sounds SICK... i'll try to get an audio clip up over the weekend, it might be hard to hear the muffler now since i've put in headers + a y-pipe, but yeah, you'll be extremely happy. if you've checked the remus site you can see that they're nothing short of good quality mufflers.

Nismo Jan 18, 2007 03:45 PM

retrospex, how much was yours US dollars? Was it a universal weld on outlet or came direct bolt on?

PHAT6 Jan 18, 2007 04:53 PM

Sweet! :) Here's hoping you get that sound clip up bro. :)

maximus_pr Mar 7, 2007 10:59 PM
