What a difference after four months!

When I first had the AGX's installed, I cursed the day that happened because these were the stiffest, bounciest, most unforgiving shocks and struts I had ever encountered.

I planned to sell them and put a stock suspension on in their pleace. I did that twice, actually, but never got to do the swap because of the problems with the installation (the mechanic screwed up my strut bearings..or they were bad to begin with).

Well, after four months of bone-jarring rides, these beasts have been tamed to where I really enjoy driving my car again. They are now pretty close to OEM stock.

I know that it may come as a surprise to some that AGX's do not hold their stiffness, but not to me. I put a set of GR-2's on my 3rd Gen Max and they were great for the first six months, and then they started getting mushy.

So, here's to ya, KYB. Like a tight pair of shoes or that pair of jeans that just won't fit, these shocks and struts do get broken in, bigtime.

Stock springs?

I find that the kyb agx I have really have different levels of "damping" depending on the temp. when I first start up in the morning, they are some stiff. As I put some time on them, they soften up. VERY TEMP. DEPENDANT. In the summer, when it's really hot out, even with them cranked up to 4 in the front and 6 in the rear, they can still feel soft.

It has now been a little over 5 months since I bought them, and I'm running the struts on "2" and the shocks on "1" with 32 PSI on all tires. Perfect...

you dont have shocks.

Originally, I did, along with Tein H-Techs, but had to sell them, and I never even opened up the boxes.

Desperately needed the jack at the time.

But, at $159 for an entire set of brand new AGX's, with shipping, that was a deal even a poor guy like myself could not resist!!!

Sometimes, a bargain will come along that i'll see and will not pass up on it, even if I have to sell some of my other sh*t to get it.

Case in point: a stock 4th Gen I30t spoiler, already painted in my car's color, in excellent condition, popped up on eBay for $49.00 w/ $25 for the shipping. Needless to say, I jumped on it.

When I get back to a better financial position, I'm going to get it mounted along with fixing the hood and grill that I dinged on that stupid truck's hitch awhile ago.

But, having enough to feed the bulldog comes first...unless, of course something else comes along too good to miss. Hey, ya gotta set priorities!

I got them on eBay from two separate auctions from two separate sellers; i.e., one for the fronts and one for the rears.
