I bet most of 95' or 96' max owners have the same problem(?) as I do. I have a 95 max and my black plastic(or rubber, not too sure) part between the front and back side windows is wearing out. The black color is fading because of fingerprints, etc. I'm not a paint expert so I don't know what paint to get to paint this part black. I do know that I'll need primer, black paint, and coat(or anything else?). What kind of paint stuff should I get? oil base, all that stuff.... ONE THING, i don't want to use spray paint... Long story
feedback please! |
RE: Door Posts...
The same post was made a few days ago. The solution was to buy carbon fiber adhesive (or a vinyl adhesive with carbon-look) and stick the over the posts. Its very easy, and you can get the vinyl from a local vinyl graphics place. Just trying to help.

I had this problem too - I found the cheapest solution was to take it over to a local auto body shop known for affordable quality work. They painted my side panels for 50 bucks.
The job took about an hour and hasnt faded or chipped in the least bit. I could have done it myself, but the paint and supplies would have run me close to $50 anyway, and I would have had left-overs. |

Originally posted by seanqlee what kind of paint did they use? brand name, etc.. In case body shop around my area happens to charge more than $50bucks.. It was almost an exact match - it has the rubbery-like feel to it but it isnt quite as reflective as the original panel. |
