All 4th gens with 20's step in...plz!

i know i shoulld post in the wheel section but.. i need a quick response and its alot faster here....

i was going through a local paper(cuz i'm bored) and saw a set of 20" wheels with 255/35 tires.. i know 255 is pretty wide but can it fit on my 4th gen thats has about a 2" drop?

he's askin $400 with tires.. Thats a deal!!! just to have a extra set for local shows i guess.

heres a pic of them:

Or do you think i should just stick to my 2k2 wheels...for now!

Thanks

What's the offset?

Preet S 22 Jun 25, 2007 10:14 AM

are those the actual wheels.......cause they are 6 lug

NmexMAX Jun 25, 2007 10:15 AM

Nice catch :sprint:

hiren_patel_83 Jun 25, 2007 10:25 AM

nahh!!! your 2k2 wheels look much better. Unless you want to drag your car everywhere leave the 20's off.

We would need to know the offset...not to mention it is a 6 lug wheel and yours only has 5.......case closed. :woot:

ewuzh Jun 25, 2007 02:03 PM

Why does everyone who gets 20"s get wheels that are chrome and shizz ? I never see anyone with 20" tuner style wheels.

I think you should stick with your 2k2 wheels or go back to 4th gen 5-spokes. I actually love the look of the stock 4th gen wheels...but maybe my opinion is biased because I've never actually owned a set of stock wheels on this car.

I would guess because most of the time, 20" is too big for performance. It just adds too much rotating mass.

:Orly:  i guess that's why no one breaks my shoes over them.

to answer the question, i think mine are 245, so yours are almost a 1/2 inch wider, but wether they fit or not depends on the offset. my car isnt dropped yet and i rub slightly on the drivers side splashshield. i can only imagine itll be worse the lower you go. see if the guy is willing to let you try them on one side to see if they fit.

RicoSuave98 Jun 25, 2007 06:22 PM

there are still not a lot ppl on the org that have upgraded to grown men wheels (not teen-age rims) so i don't think there will be a lot of input. i would think you would have a little rub, but you could always do spacers . . . . my 225s don't come close w/o a drop but that doesn't help you.

oh yeah i have some hella *** gangsta rapper *** big shiny wheels.

wuzzy Jun 25, 2007 06:32 PM

sublimeskunk Jun 26, 2007 12:55 AM

20s look OK on a 4th gen with like a 1 inch drop, if you have a 2 inch drop it will rub definitely, i have a 2 inch drop and my 18s rub a little with 245/45 tires

max ride 41 Jun 26, 2007 03:41 AM

i hate big wheel pissin contests. let's start a "sh!t on performance mods" thread.

RicoSuave98 Jun 27, 2007 06:48 PM

225/35 and i'm not dropped. i don't rub at all but think that if my tires were any wider they would. i got a good deal for the tires i have now, but i wanted to go with some 245s. i've heard that going that wide will make it rub a little, but only when it's cranked to the stop. so i'm thinkin those 255 or whatevers he was talkin about would be terrible as far as rubbing. might look hella mean just sittin though

G35 coupe rims offset +30 i think and 245. it rubs on my back fender with S-Tech drop. Rubs meaning when there's a good dip on the road and speed factor, it'll shave the side of the tires a bit. The front with 235, they're just fine. hope this helps.

Neapawn Jun 27, 2007 09:15 PM

Dude get the 20's they will fit the problem will be when you have people in the back seat, and they look soooo sick dont worry about what all these old men say
