Can't seem to remove glove box

I dunno if I'm an idiot or just afraid of bending/twisting things, but I can't seem to figure out how to remove the glove box in my 99 maxima. I have a PDF of the FSM, but it doesn't seem clear how to remove it. I've also searched the forums, but the results all seem to relate to replacing/removing things behind the glove box, as though it is so easy to remove, it doesn't need to be explained. =)

look underneath. theres like 4 screws, undo them. thats all if i remember correctly...there might be like 4 up top when its open also.

four up top two in each corner then two in the middle for the lil latch thingy then two at the bottom off each corner

Yeah you're probably not seeing the two on the bottom outside. Put your face near your carpet and look up.

there are 5 or 6 screws in total that need to be removed.
1) look Under (where your legs go) and there will be 2 screws on each side, remove them.

2) then open the glove compartment and there you wll see the latch that the lock hangs on to when closed, the latch is attached by 1 screw if i remember correctly, remove both and there it is,...

3) then there are 2 screws on the edge of the glove box at each side if u open it

be careful: when all screws are removed, the glove box will attept to fall, u must hold it and disconnect the wire that leads to the bulb harness (light inside the glove box). once that is disconnected, its completely out.

If u have more questions PM me for info, but where r u at right now ? whats the ptoblem exactly ?

There six screw like everybody else said. There is two plastic clips at the top that do get stuck though. Just give it a pull.
