My trunk light won't turn off!!
Just like the title says. I has to swap my rear clip, and now my trunk light won't turn off. I must have missed a sensor somewhere, but I don't know where. Can anyone help? It's a '96 GXE if it makes a difference.

How do you know it doesn't turn off if it's only on when the trunk is open? Do you see it through the arm rest passthrough or through the rear shelf vents?

Had this problem like 3 years ago and just wound up pulling the bulb out and forgetting about it. I would like to find a fix though.
I saw the light through the arm rest one night. -matt |

Had the same problem just when i bought the car. alarm kept going off randomly cause the car thought the trunk was open but it wasnt
solved it like this: to confirm, make sure the light bulb in the trunk is operational. then close the trunk and go into the back of the car, open the arm reast in the back seat and look inside, if the light is on then its the same problem as i had. open the trunk and in the latch (the one in the trunk door itself, not the lower bumper. pull back the carpeting and you will see the trunk release module. there is a clip with two wires coming out, unclip that and take out the two 10 mm bolts (i think) take the latch out of the car and inspect for broken connections. i replaced mine for a brand new one from the dealer, cost like 30 dollars or so but if u r patient u can go to a junkyard and look for a latch there. let me know how this goes |
replace the whole light assembly...if its anything like my jeep...the hood light...it would turn on/off as you tilted it. i have no idea how the hell that worked, but i know thats how it operated.
but the maxima is stationary...remove \the bulb or look into it. |
