I'm having issues here... sorry... this has just been a day of problems.... has anyone had problems with getting this plug out while changing manual tranny fluid... mine seems to be seized...

help / advise is appreciated

Make absolutely sure that you have identified the right bolt. I initially didn't know what it was and was trying to loosen a bolt that just wouldn't move. Found a good pic on one of the How2's. It has a kind of metal plate piece right above it. Loosened it up with an open-ended wrench because of the tight fit with that metal piece.

If you can't remove the drain plug, there is another possibility. You may remove the PNP switch instead. This is the large round black plastic plug with a harness leading away from it. It is secured to the transaxle housing with only one small bolt.

thanks daniel and mishmosh for the replies.... Daniel, I had actually read that somewhere.... hmmm... anyways, I just ended up going out and buying a 18" breaking bar.... after a few mins and some WD-40... poof... off came the plug.... although it was almost as if it WAS seized... oh well... chalk another one up to experience, and add another tool to my shop! :) thanks again... much appreciated.

The torque specification for the 5-speed drain plug is 11-14 foot-pounds. In plain English, this is "not very tight". However, I often find fasteners which have been made much tighter at the Nissan factory than the "official" torque specification. Your experience is another example of this puzzling phenomenon.
