During acceleration, does your ride pull left or right?
#1
I noticed when I put 17"x7.5's on my ride, the car pulls a bit to the right during acceleration. I did have an alignment @ time of wheel swap. Does anyone else experience this?

Maybe your caliper sticks on that side...do this little experiment - after driving around for awhile get out and feel the wheels of both sides and check to see if one is hotter then the other. If the side it pulls to is hotter then your culprit may be a sticking caliper.

Wider tires tend to magnify any torque steer effect. You may not have noticed it before, but your stickier tires tend to go their own way with a little more enthusiasm.

Springs may be the cause

Measure ride height carefully, with no load in the vehicle. The unloaded ride heights should be the same.
Have a person sit in the left rear seat and measure left side ride height. Have the same person sit in the right rear seat and measure right ride height. The loaded ride heights should be the same.

I believe a sticking caliper would cause the car to drift to one side or the other when traveling at a steady speed on a level road.

some advice....
maybe, if you don't mind the slight hassle, you can swap your original wheels back on, at least just in the front then see if the problem continues, if not, then you can be sure it has to do with the wheels? I dunno if it makes sense just a thought....
Oh yeah, I had this problem when I put 17 X 8 wheels on my car, but it was most likely caused by severly worn tires on 1 rim towards one side and I didn't even have the car aligned after doing this.....

My bad...I was searching for my post and this thread came up w/in the top 5 on the list...and mine was not even on the page. I assumed it was posted or replied to after mine.
Does searching not default to last post date for sorting like every other board?
