Alright so last fri. Nite I went to this party. And there were some hot chicks and some of my friends their. Of course my baby(max) appealed to all of them. They were all begging to drive it. So being a softy when it comes to hot chicks I took them out one-by-one to drive it, but couldn't say no to my guy friends so took them out one-by-one too. Well, they All were pleased and some shocked at how powerful, sporty and smooth my Max drove.

BTW, I have an Automatic Transmission.

Now heres the problem !! So this one kid was driving. I told him to stop and punch the gas from a dead stop so he could feel the superior exceleration of a maxima. Well as the fool was coming to a stop, he put it on park before he totally stopped ! What a dumb-*** ! The car gave a mad jerk and I got really ****ed. My tranny put up with alot of crap that night, and has felt a little uneasy ever since. I'm sure it's fine, but is there anything at all I can do to boost it up ? Fluids, throttle tightening, anything ?? She needs some lovin' ! :)

you let people drive it
im too paronoid to let people sit in the drivers seat even if they are hot girls and to take them out one by one you owe your car... wash it and get the interior detailed then kiss it and say your sorry

I know, Damnet, I know. :D

And I want to drive her nice and smooth but its SOO hard when the power is available right at your foot!!!!

My max needs internal lovin', not just looks.

MedicSonic, Your superior knowledge is needed ! :D

Lol, I know exactly how you feel, however, I have been getting better lately. I always tell myself that im going to drive it nice and slow and not rev the engine or be hard on it, then I always just end up punching it to feel the power. Like I said, i am getting better though but its hard. Take Care

well first, try to describe to us exactly what you feel should be BETTER.

I mean, does it lag on shifts? has some of the smoothness gone away? once that's established, people can help you from there. :)

A few easy suggestions though (nescessary or unnecessary):

- ATF change
- Throttle Body Cleaning (I'm working on that one at the moment :D)
- Chevron Techron fuel-injectior cleaner
- Oil Change
- Coolant Change (maybe w/ Water Wetter? I have a bottle sitting at home but haven't bothered to try it yet)
- and a good wash/wax wouldn't hurt either! :)

SB97MAX & Ferguson

SB97MAX, Damn your supercharged. Talk about trouble when the power's there, huh ! Have you ever tested your 0-60 ??

Turd Ferguson:

Those are all good suggestions. Ahh, the liquids. Just run 'em through her and let her be revived !

I am not so sure anything serious has happened, just a overworked and ****ed of maxima. :)

I will post if I feel any significant difference.

Thanks.

I havent tested my 0-60 yet ill have to do that soon. I know, it is soo hard to not stomp on it just to feel the power but I am trying to stop, lol. Its just such a huge power increase over before I had the SC, I just always think i need to feel that power. Oh well im trying to get better anyway, Take Care and ILl let you know how the 0-60 comes out when I try it.

You'd definatally be running in the low 6's-Mid 5's. Are you an Automagic or Stick ?

My advice to you: Go down to a track. Put your 10-15 bucks in. Race people. And when you spank them all, you will win the money, thus gaining wealth and respect for yourself and your maxima. :)

I would check the fluids for right now, drain and see if there are any metal particles, dirt or any irregularities. Just how is the tranny acting differently now?

Med,

This may just be my own paranoya, but here it goes:

When Accelerating, it is quick like always, but it shakes a little when in shifting into second. It goes away almost totally when it shifts up into 3rd.

Maybe it's just loose or something now b/c of that fool who put it in park before totally stopping.

The maxima is resilient and I am sure it will be fine. I gave it a total detailing today, inside and out. So I feel a little better.

Be on the lookout for a little while, Other than that, if the car starts to slip or revs then engages gear, then you have a bigger problem. If it starts to do that, visit a transmission shop.

Thats happened to me before. I would come to a stop light. and then turn and try and gun it and it rev's high and then punches into gear. And it feels akward. It only happens rarely but your right I need to keep on the look out.

BTW, how much would it cost for a local transmission shop to do an expection ?

Sonic Aug 19, 2001 02:59 PM

That's not necessarily a slipping transmission. Out transmission's computer is REALLY dumb, and likes to allow you to take off from a rolling stop in third gear. As for cost? Don't know, I've never had a transmission problem.
