I need new brake pads and I want to get some of decent quality, so what does everyone think?

How about Axxis Metal Masters?
There's a group buy for them at http://www.groupbuycenter.com

Stillen

That's right I said Stillen. As much as people complain about them, I have had NO problems buying from them. I am runnign their brake pads, and they work very well. Sometimes they have to warm up a little(not much0 to grab hard, but I don't notice it. Others have Porterfields and love them, but they do cost more, and don't need to be warmed up.

porterfields are pretty good..IMO.

I agree with DanNY

I have Porterfields and they work really well for me. Around town they feel about like normal, but at high speeds they really stop you with out fade.(Group buy on them also)

Do the Porterfields have any affect on the wear of stock rotors? :gotme:

No they are suppose to be rotor freindly. Click here: "Brake Pads for your auto, van and truck. The original Carbon Kevlar Racing Brake Pad. Racing Rotors, Calipers, Fu That might not work but the web site is http://www.porterfieldbrakes.com

$35 a set....stops like hell and no brake dust!
I've never used Porterfields and I hear that they are great, but I just couldn't beat the price/performance/warranty/rotor friendliness of the CMs.

Again, just my $.02 worth.

Porterfields are good ive heard...I'm on some Midas pads they are great in my opinion. good stoping and no dust. now i need to add some stainless steel lines to stiffen my pedal feel

brake job

I was wondering if anyone knows what the going price is to have the rotors resurfaced? it seems that mine are abit "ridgy" and that it doesn't look completely smooth from my inspection a few days ago. I had new pads about 5K ago, and I dont' believe those idiots did anything for the rotors...so now there is some vibration at high speed braking--and I figure perhaps it is time to have them resurface?

would anyone know a good place to go to in the NYC area?

thanks =)

$5 to $7 also depending on if you take them off or if you get them to..........

Re: brake job

if it's pulsing bad save up for new rotors too. if the grooves are bad then it's a bad sign.

pulsing?

I didn't really get that Dan--

I only get the pulsing vibration at high speeds around 70mph and that only comes to the steering wheel when I brake. I do noticed some ridges on the rotors of my car the other day when I was washing the rims and I noticed they weren't completely smooth--but would that be a bad sign? any why?
I wanted to taken them in to be resurfaced--but this guy at midas told me that it could be a suspension problem also? I am like "what??"

so any advice would help

thanks =)
