This has nothing to do with 4th gens specifically, really belongs in other cars or general.

:calvin:

has nothing to do with cars or maximas
has nothing to do with tires or nitrogen
the only vague connection between that and us is that we use craigslist to buy/sell

yeah pointless...nitrogen has real no benifits what so ever..

maxboy325 Oct 29, 2007 04:45 PM

NO THANKS

there are a lot of very notable benefits from nitrogen, if it wasn't such a PITA to top the tires up 'once a month' (I try and do it once a week) I'd have nitrogen in my tires too. But hell its hard enough to find a regular air compressor when cruisin, let alone one that actually works.

Here in CA, law says people who pump gas get free access to air/water. I regularly take advantage of that.

What scares is me is the amount of moisture in these gas station holding tanks. Is it possible for tires to rust from inside-out w/compressed air? I know when I'm using my home air compressor, after I'm thru I drain the air out and there's a lil bit of water that comes out too.

haha now if we could fill our tires with helium...now that would have some notible benifits...lol
we use hydragen in our tires for our races...only for the fact that we have nitrogen bottels on our trucks for tools...

i think the only real benefit to nitrogen is that no moisture gets into the tire because its a very dry gas so when the tires hot it does'nt expand and contract when its cild. i have it and its doing its job imo.

What I don't understand is why doesn't someone go directly to the tire manufactures for answers? I assume they factor in the heat and expansion of regular air when they engineered the tires. I'm sure that at 100mph, gas expands and somehow creates more grip at high speeds. I hope that function isn't lost!
