Read ONLY if you've got black spots on your paint.

Some may know, some may not but I thought I'd share this bit.

I've got a 95 Max with Pearl White paint, and I swear my car gets stubborn black spots on the paint, more prominent on the doors & fender + quarter panel.

A guy at Ziebart pointed the spots out to me and mentioned that the spots were brake dust that adhere VERY STRONGLY to the paint. Virtually every car has it but it's more apparent on light-colored cars. I do not know if it damages the paint in the long run, I also cannot confirm that the spots are actually brake dust but it seems like a logical explanation.

The spots don't come off with regular washing, but some wax, a fingernail (gently if necessary to loosen but not scratch the clearcoat) and patience will take it off, resulting in a sparkling, white smile :D ... oh yeah, a clean, spotless car too.

Just wanted to share this with people who had the same problem, hence the subject line. Actually came across it in the 5th gen forum:

You killing the Smurfs? :bawling:

Maybe your area has been exposed to radioactive, DNA-altering chemicals and you now have mutated, blue-blooded bugs flying about. When they die, they vaporize leaving nothing but a blue, blood-like substance ... :D

I have black spots on my car, wait, my car is black...phew.
I guess all colors have problems, the black 32 seconds after washing it looks dirty, and light colors have the invasion of "black spots"

Good luck,
Erik

Har har har....I have spots on my black paint. Yeah my black Maxima is dirty before I finish drying it off after a wash.

haha here is a novel solution...but you'll hate getting all the zaps...
run a elecromagnet into your car's body. run it negative. Then you will get no dust. wait if someone touches the frame you get a nice shock...nevermind.

Thats why I put on like 4 coats of wax sometimes when I do mine. Makes it last nice and long and tougher against these elements.

i have a WHT max and the silicone tire shine kicks up on my car and if it sits there to long , like a 2 weeks , it will stain the paint.
