Cluncking Sound from Passenger side
 

I have very uneven tire wear on my passenger side tire (its bald basically).
The sound is more of a cluncking sound only coming from the passenger side when turning left and accelerating or going over bumps while driving. It sounds like an axle issue, but the boot is not ripped open or anything like that. Does a bad axle cause uneven tire wear ? Wheel Bearing? But a wheel bearing problem wouldn't be making a cluncking noise would it ?

I have no idea what it could be?

Check the Sway Bar Bushing and the Tie-Rod End Links. About $50 in parts and you do it all in the driveway.

My SwayBar bushings were shot, all cut up and squeezing our the end of the retainer. When ever I went over a bump the swaybar would bang against the retainer since the bushing no longer held the SB in place.

Is your handling affected?

my handling seems normal though.

Ball-joints can also clunk. You need to get the car in the air and check for play for starters.

cv and axles fo sure.

:sprint: Sounds like an axle issue like you said. However if the CV isnt ripped, I would be quick to check the sway bar endlinks and tie rods, like said above.

yea dat sounds like da Cv axle. Happen to me 3 weeks ago finally got it changed and the clunk is gone but i do have to change the stabalizer links

I had the same clunking sound except it was from the drivers side. Especially when turning or if I had to stop short and if there was excess weight in the car. Mine was the End- Links on the Sway Bar. Put the car up on a lift and you can figure it out pretty easily. I pushed the car up and down while my buddy looked underneath and we picked it out. $20 part at Advanced Auto solved that one.

I got the same problem, its not my CV's cause I changed both sides (torn rubbers) and sway bar links, and even did that "sleeve" wrap on my front springs(where I could see for sure they were touching from wear and tear), that helped a bit. Next Im tryin the strut mounts and bearings.

The clunking combined with the tire wear points to a ball joint more than likely.

I very much doubt this is an axel issue
