help car chokes

ok ive had this car for about a month now i had a 93 altima (as you can see in my name) i wanted a max so bad i sold my altima and bought this one for $1700 its a 95 5speed with 147xxx on it 1 week after i bought it i ran into problems it needed an injector i got another on no problem but now the car chokes and dies when ever i try to give the car gas it idles perfectly after i changed the injector i changed the MaF sensor and i changed the knock sensor and the TpS sensor iam really getting mad and frustrated if i slowly press down on the gas will take it but as soon as it reaches about 2k it feels like the car if bounceing off the rev limiter at ONLY 2000 RPMs !!!! its been 3 weeks ive been without a car iam strongly considering selling it i heard it might be the pcm ???? any ideas please help if this car continues to piss me off imma junk it or somethin idk just please help

P.S. iam a full time student so money is an issue

Are you throwing any codes? It really sounds like a maf issue though

sparky1562 01-26-2008 06:34 AM

did you test those sensors or just throwing parts at it?;)
Is the TB and IAC gunked up? Fuel filter?

Like he said, any codes?

JSMax 01-26-2008 06:45 AM

You didn't mention if you have any C.E.L. codes on. Start with that and lets see what is what. Also, check to make sure that the light is actually in there. Sometime owners will pull the light thinking that that makes the trouble go away.

93altima 01-26-2008 09:19 AM

heres the thing i got a 95 which is not obd2 so i have to go pay $60 to run my light before i bought it the previous owner said he ran the codes he said it was a knock sensor code, and a maf code thats all i know imma go out side and check how many volts is going to the tps and maf

93altima 01-26-2008 01:06 PM

the codes are Mass Air flow Sensor, Coolant Temp Sensor, Knock Sensor, O2 Sensor i got it ran at my buddies shop i started it and it sort drove fine it went pass 2k rpms but when i accelerated it kind of stumbled it dosent feel like iam getting all the power but it does go past 2000 rpms now and those are the codes i got what should i do now?

sparky1562 01-26-2008 02:12 PM

Just reading in the haynes under "Stumbles on Acceleration"
Spark plugs fouled, fuel injection problem, Fuel filter, incorrect timing, intake manifold leak, egr system malfunction.

Under lacks power, the high lights: Faulty plugs, incorrect gap, plugged air filter, fuel filter agian, low or uneven cylinder compression.

I would start with the fuel filter and check the plugs, look for an air leak after the MAF.
O2 sensors are expensive. Which one is it? Can you clear the codes and see which ones come back?
Could be clogged fuel injectors. I had a friend that went to one of the lube places and they ran some cleaner through, tapped into the line at the engine. I think there is a thread on here that talked about that.
Just throwing some things out.

I am pretty sure the 95 was the first year with OBD2? At least the haynes manual has the procedure for reading it from the computer (next to the gas pedal behind the plastic panel). That is how I read my 96.

Your profile says 96 maxima??

its a obd0 its a 95 but i just got the codes deleted nothing came back on yet and its not in driveable condition

93altima 01-26-2008 05:01 PM

and i think 95 with obd0 only has one o2 and the car cant stay running once i let go of the gas it stalls and when i satrt it back up it dosent idle correctly

93altima 01-27-2008 06:34 PM

??????

cefiro a32 02-01-2008 11:07 PM

Have you tried changing the spark plugs? If not, buy some ngk v power plugs for under $2 each and see if that helps. You should also clean your throttle body and iacv while your at it. All this will cost you less than $20, including the can of carb cleaner.
Hope that helps:)

95 is OBD-II. Simple as that. You may believe OBD-0 (really no such thing) all you want, but it's OBD-II. If it's Fed spec, it has 3 O2 sensors, if Cali it would have 4 (IIRC).

2500 RPM rev limiter is MAF, check the wiring, sensor itself...

Faulty ECTS can cause odd issues as well, that's only ~$20.

Tried swapping out ECUs?

93altima 02-02-2008 09:14 PM

never tried swapping ecu's imma change the coolant temp sensor tomorrow and my car is not obd2 i can promise you that ill take a pic of the scanner plug in thing (BUT THANK ON YOUR INPUT NO OFFENSE AGAINST YOU) but i know its not obd2 . but how do i clean out my iacv?

Take a picture for me, please.

You have OBD-II, you're looking in the wrong place. I'm assuming you're looking in the fusebox? That's the CONSULT connector.

Take a picture.

DDELINQUENTONE 02-03-2008 10:56 AM

THE 1995 MAXIMA IS OBD 2 THE PLUG IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE KICK PANEL NEXT TO THE RADIO JUST CHECK AND YOU WILL SEE IT :king2:

93altima 02-03-2008 12:31 PM

ight ill check but i changed the coolant temp and the fuel filter it idles fine now but it still dosent go past 2500 rpms i was tryna avoid buying a new MaF sensor i guess i might just have to

93altima 02-03-2008 12:36 PM

sorry i checked the passenger side for the obd2 socket and yes it is there i was looking at the one near the fusebox pmhor i apologize iam used to them being near the fusebox and this is the first 95 that i know of that has obd2 again i apologize

KRRZ350 02-03-2008 01:00 PM

I have a MAF for $60 shipped, paypal is Kevgoods@hotmail.com, it's tested & working and I could have it out monday morning.

Also, :sprint: to '95's being obdII, you just have tio check on the passanger side not near the consult port, allthough there have been a select few '95's that didn't have it, but they are super rare, a;; the '95's I've come across have it.
