Rear struts rattling....again.

For some reason I am having trouble with my rear struts rattling when hitting any bumps in the road. I posted about this about 3mo ago and ended up replacing the bushings and the rattling had gone away until about a week ago. Now it's back. Dunno? I did look at the strut and it seems to be leaking a little oil so it is probably only a matter of time before it blows completly. This tells me that there has to be something going on back there. I don't understand what I did wrong.
The install of the spring I did, no problem. Installed on car, check. There is only one way I can install that thing, right? It seemed to go on without a hitch. I checked all the bolts again and they are nice and tight. All the instructions I have seen have been cut and dry and nothing special has to be done. Any suggestions?

If the shock is leaking oil, it's blown and needs to be replaced.
Did you grab the piston rod with pliers when you did the install? If so, thats why it's failed prematurely.

Yeah, I did grab them with pliers. The last time they were blown the ride was really bouncy but it isn't now. But, what's with the rattling noises? The struts were rattling the first time I installed them up until I put the new bushings on and then it quit. But now it's back.

So the rattling should be the blown strut and nothing else, right?

If that's the case, then that's fine. I'm just hoping that there isn't anything else I could have done wrong. This gets aggrevating. Can any one think of anything I might have or didn't do? the install is pretty straight forward right?
