HELP! CAI installation gone wrong...

So my buddy and I just put a CAI on my 96 GXE 5spd. After thoroughly inspecting our work (yes we plugged everything back in), we took it out for a test drive. Everything was going well, the car ran smoothly, and seemed to be faster as well...that is until we discovered that if im going over 65 MPH and I push in the clutch and hold it there for more then a few seconds, my car completely dies. WTF's up? It wont die when I push it in to shift gears, but like I said if I hold it in for about 5 seconds it dies almost everytime. MAF sensor? We did have to unplug that, and had to change the location of it from where it sits on a stock intake, to down near the bottom of the car right behind the filter on the CAI. Any help would be much appreciated...

check ur maf sensor bro, also check all the connections, tighten everything, all the hoses have to be tight, and make sure ur filter is on tight.....shud be fine.

Is there any way I can check the MAF myself, or should I take it to like AutoZone and have them do one of those free engine diagnostic scans?

why did you have to put the maf sensor all the way down there by the filter?

CAI

put everything back to stock & see if the problem repeats, if it does you might have problem with clutch switch or electrical, if the problem goes away try to put the MAF sensor closer to the throttle body because there might be to much air space between sensor & throttle body. try that maybe first. what CAI do you have?
