Calling all Exhaust/Muffler Guru's, Altima SE-R Muffler on 4th Gen?

came across one for $75, havnt baught it yet. but I've always admired the way it looked and sounded, the black muffler and that shiny tip

and the way it sounds, its not too deep or loud, but just enough

b/c they are 2 i doubt it will be exact, but after a Y pipe and some piping it might come close. they say that its a Hi Flow muffler. so my question is, after reading the custom exhaust sticky. would it fit?, i dont want it hanging too low. and if not would it be worth the custom to make it hang properly. i know the piping wont be exact. but i know its 2inch piping already. i was thinking getting a b pipe but i've only seen them come in 2.5. so should i just attach whats needed to the my stock piping. or get 2inch mandrel bent all the way.

First off, thats small for the stock muffler spot. Stock is 6" high, 12" wide, 21" long, and you can fit slightly bigger all ways.

Second, why would you go smaller piping just to fit a specific muffler on? Doesnt make any sense. Get custom 2.5" mandrel bending and a 2.5" in/out muffler.

yeah, it did look a little shorter than i though it would be. what about backpressure, won't 2.5 be too big. dont wanna lose power

No, 2.5 is just right. You come from the Honda crowd or something?

the reason i was considering it was b/c of the price i would get it for, if it was gonna be better than my stock, but what you're telling me is that is not

thers not gonna be 2 much change if u just put the muffler, maybe just good looks. but if you run piping to it...if you dont want it loud 2 1/4 piping with a resonator, to this muffler, willl sound pretty good i assume.

thats what i was also thinking, for the time being. i didnt wanna just slap a tip on

a pshop i did, found a rear donor of the se-r same pixel count, didnt even have to change the size of the layer

2.5 is good.thats what most have.

2.5" is fine, but you do realize your car will not sound like an SER right? The SER has the VQ35, the VQ30 has a somewhat similar sound, but its still not even close to the 3.5. Basically what the muffler shop will do is weld an extension pipe onto your exisiting pipe to bring the muffler and top flush with the bumper.

IMO you can get mufflers on ebay for pretty cheap. I just about picked up an HKS Hi-Power muffler for 50$ + shipping (75 tot) but i lost the bid at the last minute.
